Business Lessons via Stories
I really enjoyed this book because it contains so much useful business information and is told with plenty of stories and examples. This makes the information much easier for me to retain and recall. The author shares his personal experience with a failing family business, and draws on experiences turning around other businesses. This covers both the tactical steps of a turnaround as well as recognizes the emotional toll on business leaders.

Essential reading for any business owner/manager to save your company!
"The best turnarounds often start with a shock, something that breaks through the clutter and distraction of the languishing business and refocuses the team's attention." (Chapter 2 - Crisis Leadership) Talk about impeccable timing. Jeff's book, Corporate Turnaround Artistry, is undoubtedly going to help many business owners save their companies in the coming weeks, months and years. The timing of this release just prior to the greatest economic dislocation in America since at least the great depression couldn't have been more impeccable. This book comes chock full of hard-earned wisdom, not an academic theory/lecture about saving a failing business. Jeff is the guy you want in the trenches alongside you turning your company around. I hope in reading and studying this book is that I never have to make that call. Well worth your time!

Jeff Sands field experience was evident. A must read for all business leaders
This is indeed a field manual for turning around failing businesses. The reality is that healthy businesses can learn a lot about what to do to stay strong.I was initially skeptical about the title: turnaround any business in 100 days? However, before I finished the first chapter I got my money’s worth and my skepticism disappeared by way of: Two Core Principles Needed To Understand Corporate Distress. The analysis is golden.I will suggest the book be in audio. Jeff’s writing style is very conversational. A very great advantage for a book that addresses a very technical subject. It will help to embrace the principles for effective practice and applications in the real world.

Great roadmap to a turnaround
This book provided numerous ideas, strategies and actionable steps to take during a business turnaround. The 100 day outline makes it easy to get started in the right direction in fixing a business caught up in a downturn. I enjoyed the turnaround stories found within the book and laughed (related) to many of them. The Corp Turnaround Artistry is a motivational kick in the pants to fix your business quickly. Highly recommended for any business that is struggling.

One of the best business books I've read in years!
This is a book that every business owner and every consultant to business owners should read. It's a wonderfully detailed and readable book about the business turnaround process. My copy is dog-eared and highlighted throughout because there is useful information on just about every page. The "war stories" are hugely entertaining too.Too often business owners get paralyzed and indecisive when insolvency threatens. This book clearly explains that there is often an honorable way out if, and only IF, swift action is taken.I've been looking for a book like this for years. I highly recommend it.Bryan DucharmeVenture 7 Advisors

Easy to read and practical
This book is written by a true practitioner with a lot of fun war stories. Of all the books on the topic I've looked through this was the most practical for the < $100m revenue operator. It is an easy read if you're reading it "just in case" as I did, but also filled with enough detail and ideas that you can refer back to it if you're dealing with a tough situation. It will not make you an expert, but I think it is enough to determine who you need to call and whether they know what they're talking about.

Disappointed, dont buy it if you want to know how to fix a business in 100 days
The book's subtitle is "Fix any business in 100 days", so I was expecting the book to live up to that statement by providing a framework and/or detailed case studies where the reader is taken through the step-by-step process which would result in the reader having a grasp on this topic. Well, there is no such thing presented in the book; it contains hardly any practical measures.I heard an interview with author and he was talking about the topic clearly and to the point, so I jumped right into buying the pre-release book. I though that after reading the book, which is specifically titled "Fix any business in 100 days", I would have a sense and key focus points such as key areas, key processes, priorities, even some practical tips and tricks. There are no such things in the book, consequently I know hardly anything more about the topic after reading it than before.Towards the end, suddenly, the arrogance just jumps of the pages e.g. "You are doing God's work - you are preserving jobs and vitality in the community. Everyone else is being selfish and myopic, which is why you must prevail." While citing community and keeping jobs all the time I see hardly any concern about how the measures he intends to push through would affect the counter-parties.Finally, the book is purely US focused, which is not a problem as long as this fact is stated somewhere. Since I am a European reader, one who wanted to practice the knowledge in Europe, many chapters are irrelevant.I am sure the author has vast knowledge and experience, the interview I heard definitely gave me that impression, so maybe writing specifically about the cases would be way more useful. However, this book does not worth neither the money it costs nor the time it takes to read - especially for non US reader.Maybe I had too high expectations, but I was really disappointed.

Disappointing
I had high expectations for this book but not much here than can't be learned online for free. Key point would be to fix 2 types of problems : income statement / balance sheet (too much leverage) or both at the same time. Have a plan, focus on managing the company's CCC using a 13 Week cash flow forecast. Nothing very practical to learn. Some fun anecdotes.
