Crinkle Rope Duck, Small

Terrible durability for an expensive toy
I bought this toy for my small/medium dog because her breed is a duck dog and I thought this was so cute. I never ever spend this much money on dog toys, but given that it was made of (what I thought was durable) rope, I thought it would last for the long haul so I splurged. I regretted it in the first 30 minutes. My dog is not a chewer. My dog is not an agressive tugger. We played fetch for about 30 minutes and the rope started unraveling and once it starts coming apart, it doesn’t stop. At this point, we’ve just tried to tie it back together so it doesn’t come apart any further, but I think it’s also only a (short) matter of time before the head would come off too. I’ll be contacting the seller to ask for a replacement. My dog has $5 toys from 6 months ago that she plays with every day that are still in better shape than this was after 30 minutes.

Great choice for Moderate Chewers
So the crinkle factor is key with this toy. If you have a dog that likes water bottles or something else that crinkles. They will love this type of toy. Remember it is a rope covering. So if your' dog will rip up a kong. This is not for them.

Head was gone within an hour
Head was chewed off within the hour. The ropes held up for a week or two though after slowly getting torn apart. The dog did like the toy he just destroys them all. Probably perfect and durable toy for any dog who doesn't destroy every toy in a day.

Not for dogs with teeth.
My lab puppy killed this one and the flamingo in less than 5 minutes. Never chewed the rope body. Just the head... Leather was very weak.

Easily dismantled by my Aussie.
My Aussie had this unraveled before the day of delivery was out. She’s very good untying knots. Otherwise she had loads of fun with it for about 3 hours.

Durable and apparently fun
Love the all natural materials. My GSP destroys the head within minutes and rips the bottle from the bird’s guts shortly thereafter, but the rope part lasts forever and provides hours of apparently highly satisfying ripping and tearing.

Good solid value
Our Labradors Love to play tug-of-war with these. No, they don’t last forever but they are quite durable considering the forces they are submitted to.

My dog chewed the leather head open in <30 minutes ...
My dog chewed the leather head open in <30 minutes and the stuffing was pulled out. It appears to possibly be excelsior or coconut hull strands. They were long brown strands that are very strong, I could not break them with my hands. Chocking/cholic hazard. I took the stuffing out and gave him the toy back the next day. He pulled the band off the tail end and disassembled the toy. Total: one hour of hazardous play. The snake version of this toy is 6 months old.
