Batman: Gotham Knights: Contested

“Batman Gotham Knights – Contested” collects issues #14-24 & #32 from 2001-02.The first volume of this series was superb, and got a 5-stars review from me. This one is a bit hit and miss due to the continuity displacement between stories – some major stories were likely to have been going on in parallel with these, and so supporting character came and went. Azrael is in the first story, a Robin in the second, and neither seen again; Nightwing comes and goes, and Alfred is missing for most of the book.These are mostly single-issue stories, with a couple of two-parters. They are well written and illustrated, though the style of art is a bit dated compared to current comics.They were still entertaining though.I read my local library’s copy.
