The Vic Firth Individual Drum Mute is a 13-inch diameter, non-slip pure rubber pad designed to reduce drum volume effectively. Its versatile design allows it to function both as a drum mute and a flappy practice pad, making it an essential tool for drummers seeking quiet practice without compromising on feel or control.

A game changer for music lessons
Product works well and helps mute so I can work with drum & clarinet together on band music. Not the same rebound as regular drum head, but only the 12 year old boy has complaints. Snare still comes through.

It does it's job well
It's rubber and works. Nice muted sound on my snare so I can play it indoors.

Bad smell
It works as it’s supposed to, really dampens the sound of the drum, but I recommend leaving it in the garage for a week to let it off-gas the smell before bringing it in the house.

Love them
These are a godsend for the middle school band teacher. Before the snare drummers learn to not whack the drums from a 2 feet height these are a must. The kids don't seem to mind and they save my ears and mental health. (mostly).

A Mixed Bag
I bought this mute to cut down on the bright tones that my quiet hi-hat cymbals produce. It works for that, but is too stiff to lay flat on the cymbal. The result is that it “flaps” when struck hard, which adds undesirable tones. Older VF mutes are made from thinner material and lie flatter on the cymbal, and therefore don’t have this problem.

Study time
Fits perfect, it’s made from durable material, and muffled the sound allowing me to practice anytime with disturbing anyone. Thumbs up!!!
