I have been wearing a pendant on a leather cord for some time but I wanted to see if I could change it for something better. I found that "better" in this cord and the cord endings that came with it. Previously, I had been using a slipknot type of closure which was nice because it was adjustable, but it looked kind of sloppy. Over time the leather stretched and the knots because visible when I tightened it.One thing I liked about these that influenced my purchase was that the cord endings and clasps were included with the leather cord so I only had to buy one thing and I knew they went together. I also liked the option for nice brown, natural colored cord. Other reviewers complained of the smell. That smell is the smell of leather! It is rather strong at first but at least I know it truly is leather.Regarding the endings and clasps: there are twice as many endings as clasps which is a clue as to how they are supposed to go together: a cord ending on each cut end of the cord, with the clasp securely connecting them to each other. Works well, though the clasp is a little difficult to manipulate which may be annoying if you plan to unhook it every time you take it off. However, I made mine large enough to slip over my head.The difficulty with the clasp could perhaps be overlooked but I took away one star because there were no instructions. I found some online at an unrelated website, but I shouldn't have to research or guess how to use a product. I'm sure I'm not the only one who is not in the jewelry making business and therefore will need some guidance. Otherwise a good product and I'm glad I bought it.

I thought It came with the solid bendable clasps to crimp over the end of the cord. I just got the spring type as shown in 1st photo and hooks. Maybe springs can be crimped to look like the solid one? I'll be trying. The cord feels ok though. Maybe I'm just not familiar with this type of clasp. I shall try to make it work. Tiny pliers on hand- Wish me luck!Cheap price anyway! (next time I'll learn proper terminology and buy from a craft store)

These ropes smell like they've been in the attic for 10 years. Hopefully a dryer sheet will get rid of it.

I got these to replace the necklace chains on me and my girlfriend necklaces. They’re good value for the money but the way they’re designed they’re not the sturdiest. Mine has never come apart but hers has three times so far, the difference is though she wears hers in the shower. Maybe if we took a lighter to the ends it might hold a bit better, but at least they were inexpensive and very easy to put together.

After the last experience with leather strips and clasps (50pcs of SAME clasps end, one-sided)... this was a huge improvement. As you can see in the image it works great. (Got leather snap bracelets for my sons from recent trip to Hawaiu but one of them was too small so had to fix it.)
