The packaged fluorescent ring light would not power on
The scope itself worked fine as expected. However, the packaged fluorescent ring light would not power on. I swapped out the mounted fluorescent tube with the spare that was supplied but the unit still would not power on. If you purchase this item, I recommend having an alternative light source handy.Update on the ring light. I decided to pull it apart and found one pad on the PCB had little or no solder. Resoldering resolved the issue.
