UPDATED: Well, like a lot of others mine has now broken at the bolt mounts…as in it broke with a 1 1/2” hose to it. There’s honestly no need to have this be clear, make the dang thing out of HDPE so it might stand a chance if actually holding together!Great idea, poor execution on the mounting hardware. I’ve ended up using a mighty mag mount for it to attach to the banjo. Seems to have been made for a specific lathe and that was definitely not mine.

Easy to assemble, fits fine and will be a bonus when I start turning again.

Thin plexiglass attaches to the mount with two bolts. The movement and presence of the vacuum hose of course shatters around the bolts. I did all the things like, don’t over tighten the bolts, support the hose so there was no weight on the shroud and it still broke after making just 12 pens. Disappointed to say the least! Expected a higher standard from Penn State Industries (PSI).

This was easy to setup using the instructions. Within the first hour of use, the shroud cracked at the screw holes. I figured I did something wrong, so I reread the instructions very carefully and remounted the shroud using the holes on the other side. It broke again almost immediately. The shroud cannot handle the weight of the vacuum hose attached to it. I normally love PSI products but this one is total garbage.

My lathe has a trapezoid shaped banjo. The mechanism for securing this to it probably works on Square banjos.

Great product for removing dust with easy and quick assembly. A little hard to get you fingers in there to feel the pen for smoothness and the plastic cover is flimsy but I supported my vacuum hose from ceiling and its fine.

This really helped a lot having the vacuum close to the workplace. I definitely recommend this
