Amazon gets a -0- on this deal
I have owned several of these. Always work great and last. Only ever wore one out and they say they can fix it if I get it to Walker. Mostly I lose them because I take them out to use the phone and leave them. Battery life is about a month. Sound is good. Use for general everyday and hunting. Survives in the shower. Price even at retail is right especially compared to "hearing aids". Recommend to friendsAmazon is another story.1) original packaging..nope. no packaging. Just stuffed the components into the black pouch and put them is a box.2) like new. Nope. The foam tips had obviously been used. Battery 4 pack had been opened and one was missing. Instructions were torn and crammed in pouch.Checked out.. I doubt it. One of the tips was placed reversed over the plastic lead from the receiver. Not the ear tube but the device itself.Poor poor poor on Amazon's part.Pay the retail price for a new unit wherever you can get the best deal. Fortunately I had enough spare parts from others I bought to avoid returning this one but I was tempted to return it anyway

Using Walker's Game Ear Elite Digital HD PRO 2 as regular hearing aid
In 2004, I bought a pair of Audible hearing aids. Since I had not worm hearing aids before, it took a while to get used to them. I didn't always wear the right one and six or eight months ago it quit working. It would cost $400 to fix it and the dealer said it wasn't advisable, but should get new hearing aids. I didn't ask the price. Wished I had. Since I didn't know, I thought I would look on the internet to see if anyone published prices. I did a Google search and came across an article in the New York Times about the questionable prices of hearing aids. Some people are paying $8,000. Yikes. After the article there were comments and they were several references that people should get Walker's Game Ear. There was a reference to MDhearingaids too. I checked out both and kept coming back to Walker's. There are many different types. I've never hunted a day in my life and these are what hunters wear. I am using Walker's Game Ear as a replacement for a regular hearing aid.I finally figured out that the word Elite in the name meant they were smaller. These are the Behind the Ear type aids. I decided to try Walker's Elite Pro 2. There were three Elites, so figured to go the middle ground route.I am amazed this hearing aid works as well as the expensive one. It is tuned to catch high frequency and that is what I lost and what one loses first in hearing. You can also adjust that too, but I left it alone since I know it is high frequency that I am missing. There is a volume rocker switch with nine volumes. I have found one that works best for me and leave it there. There is no off/on button, but you open the battery door to turn it off. And make sure the dogs and cats and kids don't get the batteries. The instructions say to pull off the paper tab before inserting into the hearing aid. Actually, the little tab helps you position it into the battery slot, then pull it off and close the door.If one has not worn hearing aids before, there is a break-in period where you have to train your ear to hear differently. That is probably why hearing aid stores charge so much, you go back for support and encouragement telling you to keep wearing the hearing aids and your ears will finally adjust to them.Since I have worn hearing aids, I didn't need a break-in period. If you have not worn hearing aids before, the more you wear the hearing aid, the better your hearing will become. I believe there is a 30 day return here at Amazon. If you want to save at least $5,000 in "encouragement" appointments at a hearing aid dealer, order a Walker's Game Ear, get either the Elite Pro2 or Elite Power4 and WEAR THEM everyday for at least three weeks to get them to work for you. Your ears have to be retrained, just tell/make yourself to do it. Check on that return policy though. On the Walker's Game Ear Web site, they offer the return, so check out that web page too.I am writing this long review, because I am amazed. I'm sure I have saved at least $2500 on a new hearing aid for my right ear. I don't know how long it will last, a few years I hope, time will tell I guess. Right now I am more than happy. I think I will order one for the other ear because even after wearing the "in the canal" hearing aids for 8 years, I am aware of it in my left ear and can't even feel the Walker's in my right ear. I have short hair and it covers the portion over my ear and all you see is the clear tube going in my ear...hair covers that too mostly. Men though, unless they have longer hair, it will show.So many of us can't afford the high priced hearing aids and this is more than an alternative, this takes their place. Just remember if you haven't worn hearing aids before, the more you wear them, the better they get. High priced hearing aids are not going to help you any better than these...that is my case anyway. I suppose there are exceptions.I don't own stock in the company....I just heard of them a couple weeks ago and I'm so happy that people wrote comments on the Wall Street Journal article; I thought I should pass that information on to others who might want to try the Walker's.

HUH?
my review didn't come out. I guess I need audio and visual aids. Must have missed the button. My first battery lasted 3 weeks, not kidding. Then I couldn't get a full day out of them and was doing a lot of rebooting. I took the batteries back and got even fresher ones. Then I noticed hat there was moisture coming out of the unit or batteries. NOt really ready to contact manufacture because I'm not sure what's happening but I checked and it only had 30days. I bought this to replace my walkers archer ear that lasted ten years. This one works great. I use a good $4000.00 a pair with remote but I was still missing so much. So I tried one of these in one ear and a real hearing device in the other and it filled in the blanks for the most part. My left ear I'd the worst and I'm on break from that letting the walkers air out. Maybe from my sweat idk. I never got them wet but did wear them 24/7 as I need one in my left ear at night. It's a very good solution to a very big problem for me. I can hear people but they might as well be speaking another language and it's so frustrating. So I don't know if my problem is me or not yet and I'm not happy I missed my opportunity to discuss with them . Can't find the contact seller button anywhere and I haven't dug any deeper than that during the rest test or how it dramatically came down in price since I bought it but it is a great little unit. If your thinking about it do it and use the rubber plug in the ear canal with the hose cut right .get the little kit too. This has everything to do with keeping it secure so you don't lose it. Ten years with my first one and hide it from yourCats.
