Beautiful Symmetry: A Coloring Book about Math (The MIT Press)

I wish I'd have gone for the much cheaper symmetry colouring book.I was expecting lots of patterns to colour in as well as some information about symmetrical patterns. Not much of the former I'm afraid.Also, if you use felt tip pens the colour comes through the other side. I've tried two sets of quality colouring pens and it does it on both of them. Very disappointing overall and I feel it is not worth the money.

This is NOT a colouring book, it is a maths book about patterns. I was expecting pages similar to the front cover to colour in with some text on the maths behind it. The picture on the cover does not exist in this book....there are about a dozen pages from 140 with tiny repeating patterns you could colour in but that is it, the rest of the book is maths text and calculations.

I had the good fortune to get hold of an advance copy of this and I'm delighted with it. It is well balanced in terms of lovely illustration and really sound mathematical explanations, and a real joy to work through.
