This is a very nice Chinese built auger. I would have given it five stars had it not been for the poorly translated instructions and exhaust placement. Be aware, it is a 2-stroke machine and the instructions have the incorrect fuel/oil mixture. All information says it uses a 25/1 ratio, but when calculated, the instruction book works out to 50/1 to 213/1. It does come with a small mixing container which lists the correct mix ratios from 50/1 to 20/1 (once you figure out how to read the numbers, it's not in the instructions). I did 14 holes straight out of the box with the 6" auger and no extension. It had plenty of power. My holes were about 15" of top soil followed by 15" of clay and it had no problems. The exhaust blows straight up from the far side of the operator. If you lean over the machine while working the hole, you're breathing a lot of exhaust. All in all, a good little digger.

Great for the price honestly. Had a fencing job to do and it got the job done. Only thing is, the housing for the air filter, the screw vibrated loose throughout the job and now the threads are stripped and I can't get the housing to stay. I can rig it and it'll be fine, I just wish I didn't have to.

Having this Auger worked out great for me. Last time I made the post holes by hand and hated it.

Extension piece is cheap and broke after the 3rd hole. Machine works as expected for a 1 person auger. Would not recommend for areas with lots of rocks. The PPE provided is for smaller sized people. I am 5'9" 210lbs and nothing fit me.

Machine works great and is extremely versatile. It's very powered for its size. The major downfall is the exhaust, needs a 90 degree angle. It blows directly in your face and eyes when in use.

This Is a dangerous tool. I would ONLY recommend using this in pure soil. Any contact with a foreign object while digging (rock,root, stick etc) will cause the augur to bind and the machine head to spin out of control. This becomes super dangerous and is almost impossible to stop. Your choices are wait until you run out of gas (and lose the job because of the sound noise and time it takes to run a full tank empty) or to try and break the augur head free using a shovel or bar. You are likely off just using a standard post hole digger and not looking like an idiot. If you are using dream soil (which as a fence builder of 20 years I can tell you is almost never) this tool will save you time after you measure out the 50/1 gas oil mix and get your augur bits set up. On that note the extension for the bits is cheap and when connected it bends easily making digging less productive. My 4” bit actually bent the very first time I ever used it. I should have just returned mine but it was a pain from the start. Now it just sits in the shed I’ve used my hand held post hole digger 15x1 for the gas Waste of money and space and a cheap product.UpdateI wouldn't recommend this tool for anyone anywhere. I wish I could return it.Nobody can use this safely. Every person to touch it has gotten injured. Do not buy this.It gets jammed and then the motor begins to spin out of control making it impossinle to stop. Looks unprofessional on the job. This tool is soooooo dangerous that I wouldn't even sell it to another human because I know it will only harm them. I'm out whatever hundreds of dollars it cost and I've injured myself so enough to say I'm lucky I didnt lose a foot or hand or worse.ABSOLUTELY DO NOT BUY

I love this tool! Only regret is that I didn’t buy it 10 years ago. It’s such a great time saver for digging fence and mail box post holes. It’s super light weight and runs great! It helped to install the 300 plus feet of privacy fence in the pics with no issues. Buy it today!!!

Considered this because I needed an auger for a one time use.Well almost a year and several projects later its still going strong.Its not top of the line and it doesnt have reverse but for the occasional weekend project, it works well.I would purchase again.
