Great book!
This is such a cute and funny book for kids! The story of a sloth and turtle competing for attention from their zoo visitors is educational, funny and creative. I love how both creatures have their own little interesting facts and how they both just want to be loved, and are loved, even if they are not completely aware of it! My kids absolutely love it! My boys favorite line, "Yuck! Gross! Disgusting!" :)

This is a great book. I had Nick Adkins come into my kindergarten classroom to read the book and share how he created the illustrations. My kindergarteners loved this book. It became a favorite book that I read to them over and over.

Kids will like it!
A cute, amusing book that will bring a smile to early readers. The drawings are just right for them. The sloth is getting attention, and the turtle doesn’t like it one bit. But then there’s a nice twist at the end.

Cute book!
I never write reviews, but I thought I would for this book. I bought the book as a science teacher (with a bachelor's in zoology). While I will not be reading this in my classes anytime soon, I did smile as I read the adorable story and well incorporated factoids. I would definitely recommend this story to anyone interested in a cute (and interesting) story to share with an animal loving child.

Interesting facts and cute humor
I decided to order this book for my friends 8 yr.old who loves sloths. The book has some cute and interesting facts. I didn't know that sloths are so slow that they actually grow algae in their fur. I really enjoyed the illustrations as much as the silly, jealous turtle named Lucas. After reading the book I ordered a second copy for my 5 yr old Grandson. His mother says it's one of his new favorites!

I truly enjoyed this book
I truly enjoyed this book! As a teacher, I enjoyed the different narratives (children have fun reading what the sloth said/thought or what the turtle said/thought) and enjoyed the author's possible message of pros and cons; not being jealous, being happy for others and more. We can all relate to feeling left out when someone else is being praised. I also like the artwork. It looks like coloring to me and to the children to whom I read the book! This helped us see that we could all be illustrators and writers!

Cute and Educational!
As a scientist I enjoyed the artist's perspective and candor in the lives and biology of two amazing animals. Also love the zookeeper narrator. Zoos are wonderful institutions for education. The art is adorable and this book would make a great addition for your little ones.
