For those looking for a short, well-illustrated introduction to the life of Junípero Serra, this is a good selection.

This book is very well written. Really impressed by the author, and even more impressed by this Saint. I learned a great deal about how Junipero Serra helped the California native Indians move from Stone age living into the modern era. Learned that Indians loved him, and many requested he build more missions so their quality of life would improve. His methods were vindicated in comparison to efforts at missions in New Mexico.This is the first book to read about this Saint.
