This baby doll was the perfect gift for my 2-year-old granddaughter’s birthday. She’s just the right size, is soft and cuddly, and smells wonderful🩷

My daughter (now 17 months, got the doll at 12 months) loves this doll and plays with her daily. It's great that she is washable and easy to clean. Only downside is that the "powder fresh" smell is rather strong, although has gotten better with multiple washes.

My grands first Adora doll is over a year old and travels everywhere with her including day care everyday. It's never out of her site!

So when I chose this Adora "My First Baby Doll - Playtime Llama Pajama", I though... "my daughter is going to LOVE this!" Due to the quarantine she has played with her dolls more than ever. I thought she would love adding another one to the family. So as a reward for finishing the school year strong, I gave it to her, anticipating her excitement... she opened it and noted it smelled strongly, then promptly took it to her room.A few days later, I asked "so where's the new baby sleeping?" She told me "the dryer" (referring to her toy dryer). I said "what? The dryer!?" She advised that the baby smelled very strong and it was smelling up her room, so she put it in there to 'let her smell go away some'.Honestly, I can't personally stand the smell of baby powder. I don't know what Adora did to this baby, but it smells like the inside of a Johnson and Johnson factory. I'm hoping the smell subsides, as the baby IS cute and was very soft and had a little weight to it. It seems like it would hold up well, and my daugher thought the llama pajamas were funny.Maybe in time, smelly baby will come back out to play. Or we will try to wash her, or put her outside... something. I'm hoping that maybe this is not normal, and some babies smell less... strong. For now, ours remains in the dryer.

Here are some observations by my wife.What an absolutely beautiful little baby doll. My daughter has been asking for years now for a baby who opens and shuts her eyes, and I’m thrilled to have found this little beauty for her birthday. This baby doll smells so sweet, with its baby powder scent. Her skin feels satiny smooth. And she has a simple, dreamy expression—just right for gentle play.My daughter is going to love that the baby can put her thumb into her own mouth, and that she has her own little bottle. And the llama sleeper romper is outrageously sweet and leaves baby’s pink toenails out to see and tickle.And I LOVE that she is machine washable. My daughter brings her babies everywhere, and I do my best to clean them with a cloth. But some are getting a little rough. With that said, she and her little brother both play often with a baby doll from my own childhood that has gone through the wash many many times and comes out clean and ready for more fun every time.This little baby may be a bit on the pricey side, but the special features that I mentioned above make her worth the cost.Update: I feel compelled to add on to this review after having given my daughter the baby doll and having lived with the doll for a few months. The baby powder scent is STRONG! Like REALLY strong. Still—after a couple months.I am glad that I had taken the baby doll out of the box in order to wrap her in a blanket to present to my daughter for her birthday. The doll was able to air out a bit, but her scent was still almost overpowering when my daughter opened her. My daughter didn’t mind, but I did. I could barely be in the same room with the doll.At this point now, the scent is definitely bearable. With that said, if you (or anyone else in your home) are sensitive to strong fragrances, this particular doll might not be for you.

First off, let me disclose that I was already a huge fan of Adora dolls before I ordered this one. That said, this doll is in many ways very different from the other Adora dolls, but I still love it.This doll is designed for the littlest doll lovers, like my three year old granddaughter. It’s smaller than the Adora toddler dolls I have. It’s lighted, too. It fits my granddaughter’s arms perfectly.One of my very favorite things about this doll is that, with toddlers in mind, this doll is machine washable!Her face is precious. She definitely looks like a doll rather than a human baby, but that’s perfect for littles like my grand baby. Her skin is soft, her hair is molded and painted, and her eyes open and close. My granddaughter is all about this doll. She has named her Baby Baby. That’s an honor right there, as most of her dolls are nameless.Her outfit is also well thought out. It’s cute, pink, has a glittery llama on it, metallic trim, and has shoulders like on real baby clothes - designed to be taken off over the doll’s head easily.I think Adora hit the mark with this doll. I love her. My granddaughter is obsessed with her. I highly recommended this doll.
