Very versatile tool when needing to dig deep down or in tight spaces.
Nice heft, does a nice job for gate posts or other deep holes. Also can be used for leverage like a very large crow bar. Was going to buy local but the big home improvement stores would have to order as well, so Amazon came through.

Blue Thunder: A useful weapon for the root-war arsenal
Plusses and minuses, but I would buy it again. I am a homeowner building a chain-link dog-fence. We had to dig down 30 inches. My fence-line is through rooty ground where cottonwoods recently stood. No rocks.I did and would use something else for surface and near-surface roots, but when the root was too deep for an axe, this tool was the root-buster. Like yesterday, the hole was a foot deep and my post-hole-digger hit a two-inch-thick root spanning the hole from side to side. I chipped at it to make sure it was wood. Then I hit it twice on each end with Blue Thunder. Then I reached in and pulled out the root.Minuses. None of these is a deal-breaker, but: (1) I leaned hard sideways on the top end and bent the tip. Can probably bend it back the same way. (2) It's heavy. Weighs 17 pounds and is 6 feet long. A real chunk to carry or lift. But that 17 pounds turns into an asset when you slam it down on a root. (3) It gets stuck. But what root tool doesn't? When it sticks, you fight the root plus the 17 pounds. (4) Sledge-hammering the top wasn't effective for me. It works better when the hole is at least several inches deep and you can chuck this thing down like a javelin.

Nice wide paddle, but it bent.
Nice paddle. Wish it were wider though. Bent after two days of using. Just a slight bend, but it should be able to handle yanking on it. It's what it's made for.

“Best overall pro digging bar “
The length is very important in a digging bar , to protect your back after the impact . Plenty of metal to hold the bar in various angles . Wide blade to cut large roots and dig deeper . The best digging bar in the market.

Great heavy weight bar.
This is exactly what I was looking for. 72 inches 17 lb. I had to “loan” my 1970’s bar to my grandson for a project and never got it back due to more projects. So I went looking for a replacement. This bar is great, well made. Highly recommended.

It did the work I bought it for...
It did the work I bought it for which is to set 20 posts four feet in the ground for a new deck/terrasse. However, this bar it quite heavy on the arms to use; so you are better be a strong person or having strong relatives/friends in order to work with it...My son is a bodybuilder!!! lol...
