My 1st Menstrual Cup
Menstrual cups have always struck me as unappealing, but for no good reason; there's nothing appealing about pads or tampons, either (especially their price and waste they generate). So I finally decided that I needed to give one a shot. After reading enough descriptions, reviews, and comparisons for the different menstrual cups available (to the point that my head spun), I finally decided that the Mooncup (UK) was my best option for a first cup. I am over 30 and have never given birth, and I went with the A size, in accordance with the manufacturer's sizing guidelines, and it took about 1 week for delivery to the east coast of the US.It arrived just a few days before the start of my next period, so I did not have to wait long to try it. Absolutely amazing device! It is not as difficult to use as much of what you read may read about menstrual cups may lead you to believe. The directions that come with this cup are very clear, informative, and easy to understand/follow. Folding and inserting the cup is simple as its soft, but not mush, and doesn't tend to spring out of your hand. It's also easy to grip wet or dry. The trick is to be patient and take your time, especially if you never used anything like it before (I had not). It's likely that you will need to trim the stem to ensure your comfort; I trimmed mine twice before I got it where it needed to be. You'll know you've gotten the correct length when you insert the cup and cannot even tell it's there. It seals easily and checking the seal is simple and quick, too. After about 2 full days of use, I felt confident and competent at it, and after that it just got quicker each time. I wore while sleeping, swimming, hiking, canoeing, doing yard work, cooking, and loafing around. I never had it leak nor experienced any discomfort. It's easy to clean and maintain, and at this point, I'll probably buy a second one for when I'm going to be somewhere that water to rinse/clean it with isn't right at hand.

best quality menstrual cup i could find
I was very iffy about these cups in general - I didn't know what they were made out of, if they would leach anything in me, if the colored ones were safe... BUT i was open to the idea of them.So one day I was looking at posts in a Zero waste group on facebook and someone posts something about this moon cup. So I checked it out and it seemed to be what i was looking for if i were to get one - it wasnt colored like other cups out there and it seems to be the best/safest quality material out there.there are two sizes out there "A" is for over age 30 and/or if you have given birth vaginally."B" is if you are under 30 and have not given birth vaginally.I'm not exactly sure what the difference is but I am 25, and i have given birth vaginally BUT I am also 5ft 100lbs so I decided to go with B anyway.I got it a few weeks back and I got to try it out last week. I definitely love that I have a Zero waste menstrual cycle saves me money and the planet for a win-win!So it fits good and I could barely feel it. my only issue is when trying to take it out. I have to figure out how to get it out without it getting suctioned. i guess its common with all these cups.. I'm sure I'll find a method with more use. but otherwise I am very satisfied with this product!

Long lasting
I have bought two of these! The first one I bought in December 2017. I lost it recently and went ahead and bought my second one February 2019, this month. I have a Paraguard IUD so my periods are REALLY heavy. The packaging says you can wear this for 12 hours. I wear mine for about 1-3 hours on heavy days before I have to empty. On lighter days, I can go 10-12 hours and try to empty it in the shower. Super easy to clean. I rinse mine off every time I empty it. I try to boil it every menstrual cycle, but sometimes I forget and it only gets done 1-2 times a month. I use an antibacterial soap on it 1x a day. If you have never used one before, I highly recommend trying it while you aren't on your period to get used to the multiple different folds (you can google search), I use the C-fold but have also had success with the punch-down fold. I tried the Diva Cup before this and it almost ruined my opinion on menstrual cups. The Diva Cup hurt my lower back to the point of not wanting to leave my bed. It was extremely hard to remove. I bought the Moon cup size B because I am 22 and had a c-section. I trimmed the stem all the way to the base so it doesn't stick out at all but I still have grips on the base of the cup to pull down to remove. I highly suggest this product!

I'm a believer
I should probably wait longer to review but I at least wanted to say I was totally against any of these cups for numerous reasons, the main one being I didn't want to risk making a murderous bloody mess when trying to empty it if I was at work or a public bathroom! My first 1-2 days are crazy heavy and I have to change a super+ tampon AND pad every 1-2 hours. I started using my Moon Cup last night (day 1 of period) and I didn't change it till 2:00 am when I woke up to a leaking feeling. I had a pad on as well just in case of that. It did leak a little, but not much! It didn't fill up again for another 4 hours! I can't feel the cup at all. I'm looking forward to tomorrow and the last few days of my cycle so I can see how long it will last. I'm hoping most of the day!Removing it isn't difficult but with how heavy I am, the whole cup needs to be cleaned so that would be tricky in a public restroom. I'm sure after using more though, I'll get this figured out better. Inserting the initial time took 2 tries but I seem to have it figured out now. If you're skeptical like I was, at least give it a try! And, try over the weekend so you can get used to it at home first (it just worked out that way for me). I plan on using up the tampons I have left here and there, but my Moon Cup is going to be my new go-to!
