great style, drafting pattern, must have sewing experience
These pants are so freaking cute. I love the barrel shape style. I loved this customizable pattern. Special note: this is NOT like butterick, vogue, simplicity patterns. This is a not dressmakers pattern, it is a DRAFTING PATTERN. If you are from the USA, you better have sewing experience to use this. I have been sewing for 30 yrs so it wasn't a problem for me. I basically had to redraft the pattern to adjust the length because it comes super short. Keep in mind I am only 5'3 and I had to add about 4-6" to length. I also added outside pockets because I thought it would be cute. I used the size 6- I am 5'3" and weight 125lbs. It really fit well. I have made 2 pairs of pants and will be making some for summer also.

LOve this pattern for painters pants.
This is a great pattern for casual painter pants style with pockets. I've made four pairs now, 2 for myself and 2 for my daughter. We LOVE them. Pattern is pretty simple and easy to follow.

Great style, bad instructions
I love the simplicity and style of the pants. In fact I plan to sew a whole fleet for myself in several colors. But… the instructions are very unclear as to how to put together. I haven’t sewn pants for several years but I remember my mother teaching me that you put one leg inside the other to sew the crotch. Their instructions consisted of a small bit of text and then some colored lines on the drawing and arrows. Since this is a basic pattern I would assume that novices would be trying it out. Well with no sewing experience you would be lost and frustrated. It’s hard to figure out what to do with the big pattern companies instructions sometimes AND they have drawings. Okay, let’s end with another plus. The patterns come in extended sizes. Wow! That’s awesome. From very small to I believe 32? I think that could be a definite draw for people who do always have choices at the fabric store. One more thing, the pattern paper is thick not tissue paper. So because I want to use this pattern several times I won’t have to worry about it tearing or having to trace it onto heavier paper.

Easy Pull on pant with some Style
The only thing I did not like about this pattern was the waistband construction. All the pieces fit perfectly and are fine. It's how they do it. However, if you watch a tutorial on the Style Art website, they don't do it like their construction. I did it the traditional way and ignored their instructions which apparently so does everyone else. Go figure. I made one slight alteration to make the back crotch 3/8" longer due to a full derriere and scooped out 1/4". Both of these alterations are standard for me. However, I was a bit surprised that I had to add 1" to length. I am 5'6" which is what their patterns are based on and I have a long body and short legs so I rarely add length. The style of the pants looks good no matter if they are a bit shorter or longer but if you are picky, check when you do your first pair. I made a muslin, so I knew. I will be whipping up many pairs of these now that the tweaking is done. It does lend itself to linens and blends. I based my size on how much ease I wanted so the upper hip area wasn't too full.

Mildly disappointed
This is my first time using a Style Arc pattern and I would rate myself as an “intermediate” level sewer. I felt the instructions were oversimplified, so if you are a beginner, you may have a hard time, but if you have made pants before, you will be fine. I agree with the other reviewers that said the waistband instructions were more complicated than an elastic waistband should be. I also feel the pocket placement was a little low. Based on my body measurements, I chose size 14 - I am 5’4” and 155lbs. The fit was a little big and not the most flattering(though elastic waist pants rarely are).

This is easy!
Love this pattern. I hate to sew and when I do, I’m not very good at it. But saw this pattern a number of years ago and finally purchased it. I weigh 110 and am 5’’1” tall. I thought I would need to shorten the leg length a lot but ended up only shortening a couple of inches.

BEST PATTERN EVER
I'm a fairly new sewer- these were easy to make and they fit on the first try. LOVE THIS PATTERN. I have made four pairs using this pattern. I have used woven and knit fabrics. These are my new favorite pants. so very stylish. The black polka dot pair is the only knit, the others are woven fabrics.

I love my Bobs! Great pattern and fab trousers.
The Bob pants were my very first garment! I had made various household things before but never clothes. I had help cutting my fabric and pattern, but from then on I was by myself. People say Style Arc patterns can be hard to follow, so I used one of the numerous YouTube sew-alongs and found it very easy when used in conjunction with the instructions. They came together very quickly (see I know the lingo now!)- once I’d cut out the fabric it took me around 4-5 hours to put them together which I don’t think is too bad for my first time. I threaded the elastic through the waistband once sewed on, like the video I followed, rather than the method the instructions show. I also sewed 2 rows horizontally along the waistband elastic once finished to keep the elastic in place, it also makes them look nice and finished. The fit of the trousers is great on me- I made an 18 which, by measurements, was good for my waist. The measurements indicated that my hips were a 20 or 22 but I knew that the shape was generous around the hips. The 18 is perfect and there’s plenty of room in the hips, so bear that in mind.

Bob pants
I love the look of the pants, and it’s a well designed and describes pattern but I’ve come to the conclusion that my legs are too short. Not an attractive look. But I do love the pattern 😊
