Nice vintage gum ball machine
Matches nicely with our old double machine that had one of the machines break. This one is very sturdy and much better made.

Classic Candy & Gumball Machine
The gumball machine I received is virtually identical to the LYPC classic machine shown in the picture except that this one is the ole time chrome and red model and the dispensing chute cover don't have the LYPC badge on it. It is a simple chrome cover with a grain texture. This happens to be the exact item I set out looking for but couldn't find a listing for a 'sterile/generic machine'. The product dispensing wheel can be adjusted for small gumballs 1/2 inch or 5/8 ths up to 1 inch gumballs via a sliding aperture and locked in place by a phillips screw. There was no advert card or price decal on the heavy duty plastic globe so I can use my choice of retro or art deco decals easily found on the internet. If I was certain to get another one just like it I would! Over the weekend I will fiddle with this one just to make sure the coin mech is relatively jam proof. Either way for a commercial purpose machine it's well made for the price. Can't go wrong with it.EDIT: Well over the weekend I let my tiny QC testers have a go at the machine with a roll of quarters without a single hiccup so I ordered not one but two more of these machines from Amazon and found a triple head chrome stand to fit them on the internet. My little testers should go ape crazy on their next weekend visit.I can confirm they will be pleased with this purchase.

I really love this gumball machine because it never breaks and it ...
i rated it 4 stars because it sometimes get jammed up and it will not give you a gumball but if you don't accidently tip it over it will always give you a gumball. I really love this gumball machine because it never breaks and it is very sturdy. and it can give out both gumballs and any candy you want that is small and you can change the amount of candy that is handed out for one quarter.

Merry Xmas
This will be an Xmas gift so I will update the review once it has been given. Product is packed and shipped well (box, within a box) so the unit arrived in perfect condition and undamaged. It is made of plastic and metal and you will notice how light it is when you first hold the box. The build looks excellent though, and the finish is top notch. More to come as I observe the unit in operation after xmas. 4 Stars only because I am not a fan of plastic parts (they tend to wear easily overall, but this is not a reflection of this seller or the build quality of the machine.Update 12/27/12 - Gift was delivered and opened. The unit is very well made, construction is tight with seams and fitted parts of quality and superior workmanship. This is just like the gumball machines of your childhood, and when filled with gumballs is attractive and inviting, you can't resist putting quarters in it. My unit came set for the larger 1" gumballs, but they include the ring for smaller treats (there is a ring inside which limits what drops when you put in a quarter). The only caveat is that it's much lighter than it looks (empty, with quarters I'm sure it's much heavier) so be careful with kids pulling it off the counter. I adjusted the rating appropriately upwards to reflect satisfaction with the product.

Good looking, but it couldn't take on my two kids (note, this one is more for fun than business)
When my son was 3, he loved putting quarters into gumball/toy machines so much that we were driving to the mall just to do this activity with him on special days. I really hated how much money we were putting into these mall machines because it's such a bad deal, you never know how old/clean things are in there, and nothing from these machines is actually "good" for you-- other than making you feel joy, I guess. He loved these machines so much, he actually asked Santa for a gumball machine that year. "Santa" delivered, but instead of all gumballs, we pre-filled it with some capsules with small toys/stickers inside. He was so overjoyed and spent a LOT of time with the machine. He did all sorts of things to "earn" quarters from grandparents and us. This led to an interest in the various coins and how much each is worth when added together, etc. so that was good-- and also, we didn't have to spend money on the mall machines anymore (hooray!).So our machine was magically refilled by 'Santa' the next year, but shortly after, it broke. I really envisioned this gumball machine becoming somewhat of a 'piggy bank' for my son, but let me tell you what actually happened. Firstly, the machine occasionally jams. Be thoughtful about the size of the gumballs you get for the machine you buy-- stick to the ones they recommend. Also, the plastic capsules (we got the non-ball shaped ones) get stuck often. I didn't have it on a stand so my kids were shaking it to get candy, toys and QUARTERS out (yup, if you shake it, things will come out). Plastic part (the top is plastic, not glass) has lost its shine. Also note, you don't need to put in quarters to get something-- this machine will take any coin-- but you can put on the 25cent sticker that it comes with, to give everyone the idea that it takes one quarter to get a turn. Or also, you can be like my son who shakes the machine to give you a coin with which, you can get a turn and a gumball (lol!)

Love this high-quality product!
Excellent prdouct. great quality. The kids probably don't really notice the difference between this and a cheaper version though so if you pay extra for this, just know you're feeding your own personal needs, not your kids. But, that's ok :-) I prefer nice, quality stuff. I expect this product will still be good working order 20-years from now whereas some of the cheap plastic ones probably die in a year or two. LOVE this product!
