Product Description Team America World Police: Music From The Motion Picture by Team America .com Marc Shaiman, the former SNL musical director/film composer who scored an Oscar nomination for his collaboration on South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut and makes occasional contributions here, once called SP co-creator Trey Parker "the biggest heterosexual show queen" he'd ever met. The satirical songs Parker wrote (and sometimes performs) for he and Matt Stone's inventive, marionette-starring skewering of Hollywood action films, American foreign intrigues and political correctness of various stripes only confirms Parker's status as the idiot savant Sondheim. Trey's musical desecration here is as hilarious as it is equal opportunity, variously taking aim at manipulative Broadway fare (the Rent send-up "Everyone Has AIDS"), patriotism-pimping country stars like Toby Keith ("Freedom Isn't Free"), schlock ballad queen Diane Warren ("Only A Woman") and mindlessly jingoistic macho-rock anthems ("America, F--- Yeah"). Parker's unlikely showcase for North Korean dictator Kim Il Jong ("I'm So Ronery") manages to be loopy, genuinely touching and typically un-PC all at once. The underscore cues by Harry Gregson-Williams take informed, if more subtle jabs at his own oeuvre and that of his oft cliché-ridden colleagues: heroic marches, nervous techno and uber brooding orchestral cues played so straight that context is often the only clue to their parody intent. It's a welcome puncturing of much bloated Hollywood pomposity -- and far and away our favorite soundtrack of the year. --Jerry McCulley

Ordered from Bridge_Media got a fake.
The CD I received was obviously burned. You can clearly see the blue dye and hard burn ring on the disc surface. The CD label has a barcode on it, whereas a professionally pressed disc would have a barcode close to the spindle hole. I doubt that Amazon.com is churning out copies of soundtracks on behalf of Paramount Pictures (as noted by the UPC label). Returned for a full refund. Maybe I will have better luck on Ebay.

Pure genius.
Don’t be embarrassed, turn it up. Trey Parker is one of the finest artists of his generation.

Best comic soundtrack since "A Mighty Wind"
This is one of those CD's the reviewer is forced to wave his hands and just say buy it. I've don't know how many times I've listened to it since I purchased it, but it is amazingly funny. Why this movie wasn't a hit continues to astonish me (everyone who I have talked to who has seen it, loved it) -- though it might do very well indeed in DVD format. Many of the songs should be nominated for academy awards, but the PC weenies will certainly make sure they aren'tNote: do not buy this if you are language sensitive. This is not a joke. Many of the songs are as adult as it gets, though some of them (e.g. "Montage" (recycled from one of the South Park episodes) and "I'm so Ronery") are G-rated. Very nice score overall, too.

Hilarious
Anyone who's seen the movie knows that the music really helps to make it, as with any entry by Matt and Trey. The Team America soundtrack is no exception, and you get the full force of it here. The full-length versions of the songs you find here are actually funnier than what you find in the film at times. If you're a fan of the film, you really should have this album.

Freedom costs a buck or five!
On this CD there are 6x short 5 star tracks of utter genius if you like this sort of thing. One further track is a different version of one of the 6. The remaining 9 tracks are simply the music score, which is fine, but not really what I imagine most prospective buyers of this CD are interested it. If you can get the CD cheap it is worth it, otherwise it would be better value just to buy the song tracks individually from the mp3 store.Oh, and the Kim Jong Il alien cockroach song at the end of the credits isn't on the CD.

much giggles :)
If you like the film and find the music catchy then this is a brilliant purchase! I bought it for my boyfriend as he's a big fan of the film and we both listen to it in the car and sing along/giggle to the songs. Definately a good buy either if you're a fan or as a humerous gift for a friend!

Seriously offensive fun!
If you haven't seen the film this probably wouldn't appeal. But just in case - be warned that it's very very non-PC and could probably offend nearly every minority group there is! The lyrics are very funny and rude, and also witty. Worth having for any fan of the film!
