Plumb Pak, Gray/Green K830-16BX Universal Water Saving Tank Repair Kit for 2-Inch Flush Valve Toilets, Size

I must be up to roughly a dozen toilet 'upgrades' by now. Regardless of the vendor, they all seem to start leaking after 3-4 years. I think I have gone through every major vendor. I haven't been a particular fan of Fluid-Master--though their most recent products are much improved. I was disappointed with Korky (the stem lock is just not secure and if it twists loose--expect major water damage). I tried the Keeney recently. Overall, no better and no worse than the others. The one annoying feature is the oval shape of the float. The valve stem has a tendency to twist when you tighten the bolt (true for all vendors); however, the oval shape has more of a tendency to end up scraping the side of the water closet--which renders the float useless. Installers beware....For all you plumbing supply entrepeneurs out there....can you come up with a truly high quality repair kit? Something that would last ten years? I would be willing to pay significantly more for quality that lasts.

I wasn't sure if I should buy this kit or the fluidmaster one.I decided on this one and although it was a bit harder to install than I would have liked it REALLY did the job.I rebuild my extremely old toilet with this kit and it functions better than it EVER did.The floatless fill valve is honestly not as loud as I thought it would be and it's REALLY easy to set the height and the fill level.The flusher valve REALLY makes a difference on a full bowl (if you know what I mean).So if your thinking this kit might help then it probably will.I'll write another one about the longevity of this product after its been in use for a while.

I had two toilets to repair, so I tried this on the first one. The product is made well and went in without too much trouble (this being our first time doing a toilet repair). It worked so well that I purchased another one for our second toilet, and that install was even smoother with experience. I would agree that there's some noise as it flushes, but I can't complain about it, as I've never known a toilet to flush silently. It re-fills and shuts off much quicker than our previous kit, which I'd say is a significant improvement. This is a little pricier than other kits, but to me, the quality of the parts made it worth it, and I would recommend the kit to others.

So over all I would day this is a good product once in place it works well and once I figured out what was going on it was fairly easy to use. The directions that come with this product stink. Once I went to you-tube and then to the manufactures website I found some good how to videos. I would buy this product again.

I was hesitant to buy this Keeney repair kit because there were no reviews about it, but I did anyway. It was very easy to set up and the parts are sturdy. My only dislike is that when the tank is filling up with water, it's noisier than my old one.

THE FLAPPER ASSEMBLY WORKS GREAT FLUSHES A LOT BETTER. THE FILL VALVE IS JUNK IT WORKED AT FIRST, BUT AFTER A MONTH IT STARTED STICKING. THE TANK WOULD EMPTY BUT NEVER REFILL THE FLOAT STICKS. YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE TANK LID OFF AND BUMP THE FLOAT TO GET IT TO FILL THE TANK. SINCE I HAD IT FOR 30 DAYS I COULD NOT REFUND IT. SO I THREW IT OUT AND GOT ONE FROM THE STORE TO USE. THE FLAPPER WORK GREAT THOUGH.

I very happy to buy this product after seeing it on This Old House. I am a professional and have replaced 100's of these in my life. I really was impressed with this and after seeing Rich install one I thought I had to use this the next time. Well the next one was in my own house. I have had nothing but unreliable service from it. It will regularly not shut off. fiddle with it and it will. Yesterday it stopped shutting off completely. just replaced with the a fluidmaster.

This product comes with all the hardware needed and is fairly easy to install. After some minor adjustments the product performed better than any other replacement kit I have tried in the past.

Was in need of a replacement kit and this did fit the bill. Basically everything you need to gut and replace an entire toilet from ground up.The value is in the total kit itself, but understand that this is not a premium product by any means. Each included part is basic entry level - the flapper is rigid (vs soft/flexible), and the float (while functional) feels cheaply made. Time will tell how long the kit holds up.It served its purpose for an exceptional price, but probably would go for a more expensive kit if I had to do it again.
