This pair of little temperature gauges is really neat. Battery already installed. Simply unbox, select Fahrenheit or Celsius preference, and put one in your refrigerator and one in your freezer. Devices can be set on a shelf, hung from a shelf, or attached magnetically to a metal surface. Displays accurate temps very quickly. Modern refrigerators have a digital display showing what your refrig/freezer should be (37 degrees F and 0 degrees F are recommended), but unless you have little devices like these, you'll never really know what temperatures are actually being maintained. Goof proof and inexpensive!

It's a good thermometer for the freezer or refrigerator. At first I was disappointed when the display on one of the two units we received started to go in and out. I thought it might be a dying battery and was disappointed it was draining so quickly when the other unit was still fine. Replacing the battery requires that you open up the back cover by removing four very small screws. I had the necessary small screwdriver, but I wouldn't be surprised if many people don't. But once I opened the back cover, I saw that the battery was falling out of the holder. It's a slight piece of tin. So I pushed the battery back in place and then used a flat edge screwdrivers to bend the tin a little more at the edge to better hold the battery. Works fine now. When you close the back cover, don't forget to make sure that the temperature sensor is poking into the tin hole on the back to get the most accurate reading.

Placement is varied and successful

The size is perfect, the display is readable and it can be hung.

Not sure how accurate it truly is since its about 5 degrees off from the analog one. but I like that it shows the high and the low besides the current temperature. Will put a second one together and see if they agree.

The pair have pretty consistent readings and it is nice to have 2 to monitor the freezer and refrigerator sections. The maximum temperature is not much help since opening the door to reset it causes the temperature to rise. If that reading had a 10 minute delay it would be ideal (and rate 5 stars).

I purchased this to help me troubleshoot and monitor the temperature in my refrigerators. The max and min range is a great feature to have so that you can see the range over a period of time. Before starting, I compared each thermometer against each other. So, I would test all 6 outside the refrigerator, then I would test them all in the same spot of the refrigerator at the same time. Five out of six were within 1.5 degrees of each other. This is within the plus or minus 2-degree product specifications. The 6th one was 3+ degrees off. Five working thermometers would normally be enough, but I'm monitoring two refrigerators with thermometers on 3 shelves each. So, in my case, I really need six. I really don't want to buy another set, just to get one more thermometer.
