The light is full of shadows
It didn't fit my old DW 918, I had to enlarge the hole. The light is full of shadows, but bright ok.Very expansive for what I got out of it...

Works, but needs at least 12v - possibly more - to give a decent light output.
I have an old torch with a conventional reflector designed for an incandescent bulb. Previous attempts at replacing this with an led bulb have worked, but have been disappointing because the led chip points mostly forwards, meaning that the bulk of the silvered reflector doesn't "see" the light source and therefore doesn't contribute much to the brightness.I gave this bulb a go because of its two groups of sideways facing leds, hoping that they would make better use of the reflector. It does work, but is not very satisfactory for two reasons:(1) My torch is 6v and this is advertised as working in the range 6 - 24v. Well it "works" at 6v, in the sense that it lights up, but the brightness is very feeble. I tried at 12v and it was a lot better, but still not dramatic. I see that another reviewer suggests that 18v is the minimum required; I don't have a power supply that will deliver that, but I can believe it is true.(2) The reflector is clearly picking up more light but the resulting beam pattern is a figure of eight shape. I realised that something like this would happen, but not that it would be so pronounced.Had the light been really bright at my voltage I'd have lived with beam pattern, probably orienting the bulb to get it into a horizontal plane; as it is I either have to re-engineer the torch into the 12 - 24v range, or just consign this bulb into the "good try, but no cigar" category. So 3 stars since it does what it says and works, but instead of quoting a single brightness value the seller should give detailed info on brightness versus voltage, in particular being honest about the poor output at the low end of the voltage range.

Good replacement
Didn't fit through Mount, so modified mount, still works with original bulb and the upgrade bulb. Better, brighter

Great Conversion but a tight fit.
Great for converting your old classic retro torch. But may not fit into some reflectors as it’s too big a diameter so check the speck.

Not as bright as I'd liked.
My father gave me his torch due to my night time difficulties relating to illness. I bought this LED to replace the incandescent bulb. I wasn't happy with the new LED's brightness so I thought it must be the battery. I bought a new 6v. Battery. I put the battery in and was expecting a super bright beam. I shone it around the room and sighed. Hoping I'd still see the led's imprinted on my retina after looking directly at the bulb. But nothing lasting. The fact that I was able to look at it without flinching away tells of how bright it is. If it wasn't for my illness and shielding I would be returning this LED. Do I'm stuck with it. Very expensive, very disappointed.

Check the fit!
Overall, a satisfactory upgrade to my 17 year old Ryobi One+ 18V incandescent torch but I had to ream out the hole very slightly as the LED lamp head is a bigger diameter than the original glass bulb it replaced. Beam is definitely brighter but broader due to the side LEDs but still good for a general purpose/emergency light.Update: found that the lamp emits radio interference. Knocks out my DAB radio from 10 metres away!

Very bright, but slightly larger diameter than the bulb it replaced
Very bright, but slightly larger diameter bulb than the filament dynamo/ebike bike light it replaced. The collar fitted well but I had to use a mini-tool with a small stone grinder to gently enlarge the aperture in the plastic reflector. No big deal, bit it is a consideration.Had it 2 days so can't comment on longevity. If it wears out in a couple of weeks use, it won't be VFM, but I imagine it'll last.
