Lonely Planet Maine & Acadia National Park 1 (Travel Guide)

There are bigger guides to Maine available, but this concise guide by lonely planet may be all you need. There is a nice selection of color photographs, and some very useful maps and city/town diagrams, but the bulk of this slim guide is devoted to pithy information bullets on where and when to go. The format should allow the experienced traveler and the first time visitor to pick and choose based on individual preferences, including traveling with kids.Of note, the guide is upfront about the challenges of crowded coastal roads in summer and of the weather in the rugged Maine winters. Also of note, the offerings include Northern and Western Maine, which are often overlooked in other guides. Very well recommended as a vacation planning resource.

Very helpful for anyone visiting Maine and Acadia.

This book gave lots of information about the whole state of Maine. I felt it was a bit lacking in the section on Acadia.

I took a two week vacation to Maine and used this and 2 other travel guides for planning. I ended finding this guide more useful for looking up info than Frommer's or Moon, although not as long/detailed. I found the maps helpful and the organization of the info user-friendly and up-to-date.

Useful guide to Maine. I frequent Maine every year but with the pandemic this year , wanted to look up new social distancing activities throughout the state.

I expected more out of this book but was disappointed. I since purchased the Maine book by Moon and very pleased. I would not recommend this book.

Great book about Maine, loved the sections of Maine organization, limited dining and housing options
