Great book!
This book is very knowledgeable for any future sewing projects, not just quilting with her templates. Learning about lengthwise, crosswise and bias grain, hypotenuse of a triangle, and how they affect the finished product. That was just the first 10 pages. Great Book!!

Love the book, provides an abundance of great information! Have used the Marti Mitchell templates quite often and my blocks were beautiful! I am very anal about precision and all her templates provide that!

The title of the book should be: Precision Piecing without Tears: the Marti Michell Method
This book answers many questions about using Michell's templates and system. I was able to get the needed info and did not have to take a class. Great savings! The charts and explanations are clear and concise. I highly recommend this book above all her other books, as it is foundational to deepening your understanding of her complete system. I have most of her sets (ahhh) but I really didn't understand enough to be able to use her templates for a purchased kit from another vendor. This past weekend, I did just that with great success. I matched her templates to the vendor's pieced blocks. It worked! Her templates make cutting a little slow and tedious but when done correctly, the piecing just happens, which ends up saving lots of time and makes the piecing part really fun. I did almost no ripping for the very first time. How great is that. Another key takeaway is this: when sewing two pieces that intersect a 90* join and a 45* join, don't think. Just line up the precision cut ends of the two pieces and sew. When the piece is opened, the intersection is right on point! No thinking. It's a great book. Take the time to read it carefully. As a result, I am not using my "overcut and trim" templates that are sold by individual vendors,. Now I do precise cutting, precise sewing, and almost no ripping with perfect joins. I highly recommend this book and Marti Michell templates. Oh - there is one caveate - as with all quilt piecing, after joining pieces to make the final block, the finished pressed joins should be measured to confirm accurate seamlines. But this is true for all methods, even with the "overcut and trim" method. If you enjoy traditionally pieced blocks and don't enjoy ripping, try Marti Michell. Buy this book to see if her method would be a good fit for you.
