It works well, but I needed help with setup
I found the manual a bit vague, it did not explain clearly the setup process and the two options for setting up the RAID (using the DIP switches or using the software setup), and I could not use the BIOS setup procedure described in it. But the VANTEC support was very helpful: they responded to my email within one business day and gave me all the information I needed. I would have taken off one star for the manual, but I did not do it because of the excellent support.

Will not fit even with half height bracket
I originally bought this for a TrueNas server i was building. i was going to put in in a 2u server but even with the half height bracket the card itself is taller than the half height bracket. Also both brackets mount slightly away from the card so it does not line up correctly to the pcie slot so would not fit anyway. if you take the bracket off and leave the case lid off it will fit and functions but TrueNas does not see the raid.if this was put in a desktop with full height card this might work but with the bracket not being lined up it still may not fit.

Absolutely perfect. No fuss.
Dell can be picky but this card worked out of the box without any trouble. BOSS card from Dell costs a fortune and doesn't even work on a Dell machine.

It BOOT in BIOS mode, but it does not able to BOOT in UEFI mode.
I was hoping to use it to BOOT in UEFI mode. But unfortunately I tried everything and all it can do is to boot in BIOS mode.
