I had previously owned the smaller folding mat, which somehow disappeared at a quilting retreat I went to. My friend and I just took a transatlantic cruise and packed our travel machines and quilted while we were at sea for eight days. I specifically ordered this larger, foldable mat and it fit perfectly in the bottom of my suitcase - nice and flat. It was wonderful to have a decent sized cutting mat in a retreat size setting on the cruise ship. It’s important to understand that we did have a small conference room available for us the entire time so we had ample table space. I hate fussing with yards of fabric when I don’t have a decent size mat. This was excellent choice, and I hope no one walks off with this one! It’s worth every penny!!

Purpose of purchasing this was that it folds/fits in bottom of suitcase. I purchased it as was going to have evening time to do some strip cutting for a quilt.

Hi, here is my review as I give the Olfa cutting mat 5 stars down the line. This mat works as they say it does, I used my box cutter and x-acto knifes "rudely" to see if I could cause damage or even cut through the mat. Well not a scratch, mostly because of the layers they have sandwiched together so you can't get through to the bottom. I love the measurements lines which really pop in that yellow on green color scheme. My best feature is that it folds in half making it easy for storage. If you need a cutting mat I fully recommend this one!

Great item

Almost returned after opening. It had a horrible initial chemical-like smell and a Prop 65 warning. However, the smell dissipated after a few days in the garage.This replaces and upgrades my first Olfa mat that I have had for over 20 years. Storing the large mat flat had always been an issue. This folding mat gives me more storage location options.BTW I accidentally warped the old mat by using a steam iron too close to it.

I've waited awhile to purchase one of these but with the coupon, this price was too hard to pass up. The folding mat has tape securing it so that it stays together folded or open. It fits well in my new Tutto sewing machine travel case and I won't forget the cutting mat the next class I go to!

I bought this to take on quilting retreats. My other mats tended to warp and this one does not.

Fantastic quilting cutting mat. The fold really does disappear when it's all the way open. Lines are sharp. It's only one-sided, but the back grips the table so that it doesn't slide. Overall, a great product to take with you to a class.I like this mat because it gives me more carrying options for classes...but I do not use it every day. The biggest downside is that it's a one-sided mat.

This was a great investment. Works really well and stores so much better that my other one. Golds easily at home and because it folds it’s convenient for travel when doing retreats
