Q: Is this made in China?

my box states: Designed and Engineered in Wisconsin, and MADE in CHINA!

Q: what kind of motor does it have rotary or magnetic ?

Rotary motor...and all clippers I've have get hot. I have a $300 plus professional single speed clipper..it's a horse..just like my vet has..and it get hot also. It's the friction of the two part blade system that heat them..not the motor. There's a product called H-42 Clean Clippers Blade Cleaner. Pour some into a small bowl, dunk just the blades into it with clipper running. That will clean, lubricate, and cool the clipper. I keep about a half inch in a Tupperware type container and reuse it over and over. The hair and whatever contaminates which was retained by the blades settles. When the level becomes low enough I need to add some, I dump it and start fresh. I bought quart and It's lasted years. Blades are fresh, clean, lubed and cool..and no more oil. That ain't all bad.

Q: What is the difference between the old and the new version and why does the old version cost less?

I've had this old version of Andis Versa clippers for about 8 years and used it to groom my cockers every 2-3 weeks until the blade stopped cutting. To that point; Trying to find replacement blades that were designed for this particular model is nearly impossible. They may have been discontinued (?). Regardless; The new Ultra Edge nor the Ceramic blades will not fit this older model.
