This thing says it can support 50 pounds. That is a lie. I use this to transport water and soda syrup and the handles bend to the extreme whenever I fill up the basket. I wouldn't be surprised if it broke on me at any given time. Do not buy this unless you are carrying very light things. If you want a real basket you either need to look elsewhere or steal one from your local grocery store. The basket it's self is sturdy and large. If you can find new handles then it may work for you but I have no idea how you would do that besides reinforcing the already existing handles with metal some how.

I bought this because stores are no longer carrying them and I don't always want to push around a big cart. I keep it in my car so it is handy. It's sturdy and just like the ones the stores use to carry just without a name on it. I chose the teal color so it would not be mistaken for a store basket. I also felt this one would be easy to clean over a fabric one and I didn't want anyone thinking I was shoplifting by putting items in an enclosed bag. It is perfect for me.

Plastic Shopping Basket w/ Handles Ok I haven't had this very long and I've only used it once. It is just what I was looking for. The stats say it will hold 50 pounds. I don't have 50 pounds in it, but it is pretty loaded. So far the one time I've used it the handle seems to handle the load just fine and is not making threats of separating from the basket. The molded basket also seems sturdy and it spacious. The handles themselves are fairly comfortable, not sharp edged. Overall after using once I am very happy with it. Of course we all know the true test is time and I will let you know how it holds up.

Surprisingly it’s exactly like the hand cart you would grab at the grocery store. It might even be a higher quality.

If you use a wheelchair the basket bottom has a thin piece of plastic that will cut in to your lap as you put heavy item in. So please put a soft pad on your lap or build something on the bottom of the basket to keep your lap from cuts or bruises.

I use a wheelchair and this basket fits perfectly between my chair handles. It also is the right height and depth to stay in my lap and place items in the basket when shopping. I then can carry the basket out to the car and put it into the trunk. I don't have to get a store basket back to the store. It is a color not used at the larger stores and thus is not a confusion around who owns it.
