Large print is a must have
This book has a ton of info and is essentially printed on dictionary paper. The normal size print is way to small (I have decent eyes) so I recommend the large print

Large Print is the Best Version
I'm getting into model steam engines and I've found this book to be the most useful engineering reference book I've found. So many formulas, and so much "inside information".I just wish I could instantly upload all that data into my brain, just like The Matrix movie. Ha!The Hardcover Large Print version is really the only one to buy, as it's much more a proper reference book than a pocket guide.Text size does matter for ease of use in a reference book, with book size and weight almost inconsequential. "There's nothing like a good tomb for reading, right?"Only down side is that packing of this weighty book leaves much to be desired by the supplier, leaving dented hardcover corners when delivered. That privilege should be afforded to the buyer in their concrete floored workshop.....Ha!Anthony.

Packed with Information
My husband wanted a comprehensive reference guide for his work. He is really pleased with this purchase. Its as large as my unabridged dictionary but he sees that as a good thing :) I'm very pleased that it was packaged as if the seller expected the package to be damaged and took precautions to make sure the book came out unscathed. I was very worried when I saw the, not unsubstantial, packaging damage (someone with weight lifting abilities really tossed this thing around). I was very relieved that the book was not damaged.

Hard to read the small print
It's a very good book with a lot of useful information, but do yourself a favor and make sure you get the large print version!

Upgrade for an Old Version
I bought this to upgrade my existing 25th edition I got on auction for less than $30. It was a bit expensive, but the additional details on modern materials seem worth it so far. I still use my older edition sometimes, and this will be with me for a long time to come. I would recommend it for any new engineers, or really anyone in a technical field.
