Excellent Value Large Umbrella
Can't beat this for $100 or so bucks. I built a 10ft x 36" pressure-treated wood patio table and benches so I could sit 8 - 10 people. Prior to building, I added this umbrella to my cart thinking it should provide adequate cover for most of the table guests. I received it in 3 days despite being in Coronaville USA. Firstly, the pole. It's a two-piece, 2-inch O.D. sturdy steel (I think unit) with a threaded connection for the two pieces. A huge improvement over cheap, generic push-button box-store umbrellas. I guess the gauge to be around 16 or 14 - hard to tell but the main pole is solid for the task. The crank goes up and down smoothly. Don't rush it as I could see the sash corda wearing over time. There are 2 cords 180 degrees from each other on the crank for added durability. Luckily, they had the sense to include a locking pin up top once it's fully opened, taking the stress off the cord. The three folding mechanisms (1 main, 2 smaller auxiliary) work impressively. I'm happy with the design and function. Stays stable in light to moderate sporadic winds. I make sure to lower it and tie it down with the built-in strap each evening. It's a giant sail while you're sleeping otherwise. NOTE: There is NO base included. I was aware. I poured a concrete rectangular base 8"x12x8" and embedded two eye bolts within. I used a 2" greased PVC pipe to form the middle. I also drilled a 5/16" hole in the lower section of the umbrellas mast, and bolted on two hooks. I positioned them so I could use a turnbuckle on each side to hold the hold setup in place. Very happy. Canopy fabric is on the cheap side - thin stuff. May not last more than 2 or 3 seasons in guessing. But for the price, it's a good value.

Bought 3, all 3 broke in the same way in 2 weeks time
**DO NOT BUY** You WILL regret it. The poles have 3 weak rivet welds to hold the screw threads inside the pole. These umbrellas are heavy, regular use in a couple weeks broke at least 1 of the rivets on each pole compromising the integrity of the umbrella. Tried to reinforce each with a strong tape but the inevitable deterioration of the other 2 welds is exponentially quicker once the first weld is broken. All 3 umbrellas I bought stripped all 3 of the welds within 2-3 weeks. I live in Phoenix, AZ - a climate not known for it’s wind conditions - these broke under very very normal use in just a few weeks. They are all unusable. See the picture to see how small each of these welds are, and they are rivets, they have the strength of aluminum and cannot hold the very top-heavy umbrellas.I submitted the return request because I was within the 30 days. The seller asked me to pay for return shipping and continued to send messages asking me to glue them. I repeat, they asked me to glue them! No way is that a feasible option. The seller continued to argue with me and would not agree to refund my money if I sent them back. Instead, they continued to offer to replace them with the same item. Why would I want this? It’s unsafe and someone is going to get hurt when these break again.I continued to tell the seller that the only acceptable option would be to allow me to send them back to them so they may adjust their design and produce a safer product. I went to FedEx and UPS for estimates to ship back to Atlanta (the original return address provided) - both quotes were near $400 which is more than I paid for the umbrellas. Here’s the kicker, although these would surely result in a lawsuit if someone at my business was injured by these, Amazon acknowledged that they read and understood the issue and all communication between myself and the seller entirely, said the glue thing was ridiculous, then recommended over the phone that I file an A to Z claim to be refunded for these, then subsequently denied the refund and sided with the seller. Amazon told me take this route!! I was given no explanation by Amazon, so I appealed. I was told the timeframe in which I had to return the items was expired (it actually wasn’t, I was in communication on a daily basis with the seller trying to get them to accept the returns after sending multiple pictures and having to explain that glue wouldn’t work, of course). After I provided additional, rational information to Amazon, they responded back saying they will not respond to another message about the case. It was like mom and dad saying the reason for their decision is “because I said so”. Nice! Amazon is okay with this liability and endorsed their decision knowing that this was a danger to others. They will allow this seller to continue selling these exact umbrellas to other people. Amazon does not mind putting profits ahead of safety. FPOS Amazon, shame on you.I won’t say this has been a nightmare, it’s been eye-opening a bit, but just don’t buy these. You will be frustrated and there’s not a sliver of a chance these last a while for you. I don’t care that Amazon sucks, they’ll keep making money so buy from them if you want or don’t.

Use with care in the wind
I live in Tucson and it's relatively breezy most of the time in my backyard. I haven't been able to get a temporary structure of any sort to not blow away or break with the wind. I bought this umbrella knowing I would need something substantial to keep it sturdy. I bought an umbrella base that I could fill with sand and rocks. Needless to say, this umbrella isn't blowing away. BUT, I can see the middle section that has some small bolts holding the steel pole together (a little below the crank) has already popped a screw and in general, the seam is now wobbly. All I can think to do at this point is buy some strong tape and try to keep the seam from breaking. Opens and closes with ease but since I've only had it a month and seeing wear and tear from every day use, I doubt it will last more than a summer. *Note - I put the umbrella down every night and use a bunjee cord to close it. The actual tie is cheap, too high for short people, and not long enough.

Looks good for the price.
This is a great size and covers the table with plenty of overhang on each side. So it does a much better job of keeping the sun and light rain off then the 9’ round umbrella we had in the past. The material is fairly lightweight, so not sure how it will hold-up in the long term. Also the rope that runs into the center pole to raise and lower is pretty lightweight and under and enormous amount of tension. So I am a little worried this might snap, and if it does it will become useless because the mechanism is complicated and fully sealed, so you cannot just restring it. But for now looks great and functions well. Hoping it stays that way

Nice
ordered for a party and the only problem was the hole in the table was to small so i had to take the protector out of the table so the pole would go in. That's the only down size I ran into.

Worth it!
This is nice, big umbrella. People who see it are very impressed! I would recommend having two people set it up as it can be heavy on one end. We bought the base you fill with sand or water and it fit perfectly. It will rotate a little with the wind, since it's like a big sail on a boat! Not a problem on our deck, I just place it where it touches the house and it stays in place. I really like it.
