She's not easily frightened or freaked out
My wife and I ordered this Creepy Tapping Peeper hoping to scare our 16 year old daughter. She's not easily frightened or freaked out. It arrived today and my wife and I had some time to check it out, put it in different locations and see how it worked. First of all, I was impressed with how realistic it looked. The skin has some shadowing to it and the eyes have a bit of sparkle and shine. It's not going to fool anyone if you hold it up in front of them, but through a window at a quick glance or walking into a room, it is awesome. The tapping feature is fantastic. The finger has a little piece of metal on it, so when it taps, it sounds like tapping a coin on glass. The only negative I can see is that although it is motion sensor, it doesn't register at night very well. We noticed that it will only taps when you turn the lights out, versus walking into a dark room and turning the lights on hoping it will go off. Kind of reverse of what you would expect. The ten second "On" option is best and it will tap three times every ten seconds. Very realistic and creepy. My daughter was freaked out and laughing uncontrollably when she finally figured out it was a prop. Even when she knew it was fake, when it tapped on the next 10 seconds she jumped and ran out of the room again! I can't wait to take this to friend's houses and at parties. The suction cup that hold it on the window is attached with fishing style line and can't be seen from inside a room at night. The whole thing is pretty damn scary, creepy and realistic. The only reason it got a 4 star rating is because the motion sensor was opposite of what I would have expected.....turns on when the lights are turned off versus tapping when the lights are turned on. Other than that, I think this prop is great and can't wait to scare and freak out my friends.

scared off the solicitor and UPS driver.
I have a camera doorbell and I got some good laughs watching deliveries and solicitors. Most people were initially spooked and back away from the door but I could see them leaning in to try to determine who was tapping on the window. Of course, once they realize they've been fooled you could hear them laughing or saying they were scared! I placed it on the window portion of my door and put it on "sensor. There is one small issue. It appears that the sensor is not sensitive to movement. It works by sensing shadows/light changes. When the person comes close, it blocks the light and triggers tapping. It also goes nuts for a few minutes as the sun goes down. But, the sensor didn't work after the sun went down and there was no light source. I turned on the porch light on halloween and it seemed to work better. I could tell when the trick or treaters got close because it would start tapping. Freaked out a few little kids but most of them LOVED it! My husband got so sick of a month of tapping that he threatened to cut the wires...HA! overall, it was a fun addition to my halloween decorations. Just keep in mind that if you place it in a window that has no one passing by or triggering the sensor, you would have to leave it on continuous tapping. And that may drive you nuts!

Holy Cow, terrible! You are not getting what you think you are and I think it's purposefully misleading - IMAGES
See attached images:I carefully went over the listing again just now because when it arrived I was surprised that it attaches with a suction cup that's attached to fishing line. There are two problems with that;1. The suction cup and fishing wire is absolutely 100% visible especially to anyone that has ever looked out that window (family, friends). But even a stranger would see the fishing line after mere seconds.2. If that were not bad enough, apparently the quality control is unimportant because the fishing line is mounted to the hoodie about 3" off center so he hangs sideways. This next part is opinion but I am nearly 100% certain it is spot on. The image they show with the listing does not show the suction cup on purpose. There is an instruction manual that comes with it that indeed has an image of the entire set up. In this instruction manual the suction cup sticks out like a sore thumb on the window they attached it to. When you combine the fact that they have existing images at the manufacturers with the item mounted on a window with the LARGE and obvious suction cup (as shown in directions), and the fact that there is not even a hint of a visible suction cup and strings in the products description, I absolutely believe that's intentional deceit. The fact that the only mention of a suction cup comes in the "questions" section when posed by a customer is an indication that this maker/seller is selling a crappy effect at a premium price. To keep piling on, mine obviously was never checked before it shipped. In an additional insult to my wallet, they did not even thread the wires through the center to of the head. It changes the look and makes him seem like he is mocking me for ever buying this without understanding how it mounts. And to be honest, even if they mentioned suction cups in the product listing I would have assumed it was integrated and camouflaged so as to make it look good. The obvious, honest thing to do would be to place additional photos under the top one that show the image in the instruction manual that shows this bombastic fault. I buy a carrot peeler with 30 pictures at the top and rarely see items with only a single image. But obviously we will not see any images added to assist full disclosure to buyers. That will be all the evidence needed to assure that this entire product line is run by very, very dishonest people. I suspect all the great reviews are from people who either hate returns and convince themselves they like it - or people who have very short windows and somehow manage to install the hardware somewhere other than on the glass 3 inches from the head.

Tolle Halloweendeko

Also the quality of the plastics used in this product is somewhat of a plastic water bottle - bad quality.
Don't bother unless your window is in front of the pavement, the sensor will not pick the movement as it's not facing what's in front of it, but what's bellow it. I guess it's supposed to detect the feet of people walking by. I treat it as a flow. 2 stars, because perhaps it has some potential, but I couldn't see it in practice. Also the quality of the plastics used in this product is somewhat of a plastic water bottle - bad quality.

So creepy!
Used this last night on halloween. The kids all loved it. It scared the hell out of the adults! Left it in the window all night and this morning to frighten the delivery people and passers by. Money well spent, would highly recommend.
