How thick are these lights? Would like some for a display case but want them to be discreet.

They are quite thick to be honest , you would see them in a display cabinet … I got them for underneath my new kitchen wall cupboards … they have a rounded edge so you’re unable to see the lights … Very good lights though …

Are they good for my stairs in hall

If you mean like as a feature to highlight stairs (mine were good as little spotlights under cabinets) then I’d think so. They wouldn’t light the entire hall but might look nice dotted down the stair wall) and have to be pressed individually. (They can’t be wired to the mains as battery power) but are fab as little night lights.
