Good boating shoe in most but not all conditions
I use these daily during the warm paddling season and over a wet sock in colder conditions. If worn in salty beaches and surf without a wet sock, I get sand abrasions around the toes. After several years, I have had to repair with hydroseal.

Nice booties but run small
These seem like really nice booties. I have done well with the hi-top versions from NeoSport, however they run a bit small so I had to return. I need a size 14, but these only seem to go to 13 so I'll have to look elsewhere. The combo of a drawstring with toggle and a velco strap provides a nice secure fit. Thin, but grippy sole provides decent protection and feel. Nice quality, strechy neoprene.

Would not buy again
Bought these for my husband for a kayak trip. He said they hold too much water in and rubbed his ankles. Bought them way ahead of our trip so can’t return them.

Great for seashell & rocky shorelines. Bad for beach dresses.
Odd, i know, but the sand gets into the velcro and they don't fit together and consequently the velcro gets stuck to my dresses, as it simply doesn't stick in the wet sand. They are also very ugly, but... the best watershoes for my beach i've ever had. You see, where we are sea shells are not completely refined so they are more broken and crushed. We have glass, rocks, and other debris within the shoreline and wave breaking. (see picture). The great news is that, I've walked through the rocks, sands, dunes of broken shells, an occasional glass and beer bottle top with no problems. I do like that these shoes are very sand proof and the insoles are good (as the reviews were right about the shoes). I wear a women's 9.5-11, and ordered a 9 in this shoe. It fits just about right for a women's 10.In regards to the sand, i've no problems, and very very refined sand get into the shoes. The last time i wore watershoes the first wave broke, and I threw them away. These i'll never leave home without. There's lots of wonderful beaches in the world, but between litter and seashells, i don't want that to cut my feet and ruin a trip... so now my shoes will be always on just like my sunscreen, sunglasses, and bugspray.

GREAT water shoes!!
Purchased these for my husband and I for a 10 day canoe trip. Through lake shores, 25 miles of rocky, muddy portages and fast moving rivers these shoes were champs!!! I even sunk down in mud that went to my mid thigh and pulled myself out and these shoes were still attached to my feet and weren't filled with mud!(Unlike other canoeists, who had to fill their shoes with water to remove all mud...we only had to walk in the water to rinse them off.)The soles provided excellent protection against rocky and woodsy trails.I gave this four stars only because once you fully submerge your foot under water, water leaks in and gets trapped in the shoe and sloshes around until you loosen up the ankle opening and pour the water out. Great for those hot days when you want to keep your feet cool in the canoe, not so much for when you are walking around on shore. The shoes do take a bit longer to dry than normal water shoes but well worth it. You will not get any rocks or even sand in these shoes! These over all are a great buy, don't look ridiculous and would highly recommend them. We both selected a size smaller than our regular shoe size and the fit was great.

Great quality however one slight wet problem...
Good quality construction. The seams are well made, the material is of good quality, and the fit is spot on. I wear a size 13 mens shoe and the size 13 wet shoes are a perfect fit. The only reason these aren't a 5 star product has to do with how much water they retain in the booties. I was hoping they would self drain, but after stepping into the river they filled with water and kept the squishy feeling for the rest of the trip out. I'm sure this is the same with alot of other wet shoes/diving boots, but I was hoping they would drain and dry out. I'm using them to wade into streams/rivers and also to keep my feet out of the sun while kayak fishing. To some people this may not be a big issue, I'm still keeping the product, but it would've put them over the top if they drained.

3rd set owned...
These are just great. The neoprene upper is stretchy-snug and reasonably warm, even when soaked. Adjust them to fit once then just slip on and off. Close to the perfect foot-glove; like being barefoot - if your skin happened to be a few millimeters advanced engineering polymers. The flip-side is that they offer exactly zero support if you are one that needs or likes that kind of thing.Construction and materials are good to very good. The biggest fault is the choice of sole material. At a guess I'd say a blend of natural and synthetic rubbers with some fine mesh silica fill. The intent is a compromise between 'stick' and durability; a compromise that needs a bit of tuning, since it doesn't do either particularly well. The failure mode is wear holes in the sole - heel and ball - before the upper has a chance to fray much.Verdict: cheap but well designed, constructed. The price paid for exceptional light-weight and comfort is limited wear life. You'll get maybe a year of regular use out of them, but at just $25 or so they are more than worth it.Recommended. Oh, and round half-sizes up for these.

Excellent shoe for water sports/activities. Good thick semi-rigid sole.
Used these during a recent 'swift water' training exercise in the American River and could not be happier with their performance. The semi-rigid sole held up well to the rocky bottom of the river with minimal foot discomfort. The grippy texture on the bottom of the shoe kept slippage to a minimum and the two types of fasteners kept the shoe firmly on my foot despite fast moving water. I wore thin ankle high socks for additional padding/protection because black top surface of shoe heated up quickly in direct +100 degree sun.... but so did everything else.I can see these working well for beach combing or any other activity in or around water.... but if your floating down river,,, DON'T stand up, cause these suckers are not coming off till you take them off.UPDATE: Bought these in 2017 and they're still going strong. VERY comfortable, but the black surface heats up quickly out of the water.
