Drano Kitchen Granules Drain Clog Remover and Cleaner, Unclogs Blockage from Grease or Cooking Oil, 8.8 oz (Pack of 3)

I have been using this for years and it works like a charm every time. Only thing is I never use it in the kitchen. The ONE TIME we had a kitchen clog (lettuce from the garbage disposal- apparently the #1 culprit along with eggshells and one other thing I can’t remember) we used 2 bottles and it didn’t do diddly. Had an actual plumber snake the drain and $200 later it was fixed. I use this is the bathrooms to clear out slow drains and it works like a charm.. which is weird bc it says on the little “which drano to use” chart is says this doesn’t work on slow drains.. well let me tell you.. my teen daughter and I both have long hair so our shower drain slows down regularly.. I pour a few heaping scoops in.. then a little hot water.. just enough to help it go down.. not the full amount it suggests.. and u can hear it sizzle and you can actually see the smoke come out. When it’s done sizzling, I rinse with cold water and voila. I do this to the bathroom drains too bc they probably get hair in them too along with toothpaste and spit.. ugh.. and I do the same thing. I only add enough water to help the crystals go down bc that way it melts off the gunk coating the pipes like clogged arteries. I did actually ask the plumber that day if these were safe in the bathroom and he said yes very safe.. it’s just marketing and blah blah blah. Sounds about right because this has always worked for me. I mean this sizzling noise is literally melting away gunk in the pipes. It also says it’s safe for all pipes so I don’t really know why it doesn’t suggest to use this in the bathroom. It doesn’t say not to, but I’m just letting you guys know that if you have kids that are always spitting in the drain when they brush their teeth and it’s always backing up and getting disgusting you might want to consider using this. I have never bought another drain product since I found this about a decade ago because this has always worked, and it has never been necessary.

This stuff works great. I prefer it over the liquids. I actually use it in ALL of my drains. I cannot find it in stores any more, so I was glad to find it here.

If you’ve got a pesky drain that is sluggish, dump some of this in it. It doesn’t always do the trick, but it works much better than any of the liquid crap they have on the shelves. I never have much luck with it, but this stuff will work hard on that clog. You can actually hear it sizzling as it’s working. Beats paying the plumber. Our last one charged us $75 to walk in the door. Good grief.

This drain opener is the best I have seen on the market. Its the only drain opener that would unclog my basement floor drain.

I WIIIIISH they still sold these in stores omg. They’re my favorite 😭 absolutely melts the hair out of the drain. Makes the clog disappear within minutes.

I haven't had any luck with liquid drain cleaners, nor the vinegar & baking soda treatments, and have been trying to find the Drano crystals for over a year, but I haven't been able to do so in Walmart, or my local grocery or hardware stores. Then I remembered a person can get nearly anything thru Amazon, and VOILA! there it was. Though my kitchen drain wasn't clogged with water standing in the sink, it did take three treatments to clear the pipe so water would drain as it should. Now that I have an ample supply I can use it once a month to ensure the drain remains in good order.

The first application of the recommended dosage (3 heaping tablespoon of granules + 2 cups of hot water) did not solve the slow drainage issue that I was having. I poured another dosage of 3 heaping tablespoon of granules + 2 cups of hot water down the drain. The slow drainage still persisted. At this point, the instruction on the bottle says I should call a plumber. But I decided to apply the product for the third time at the the recommended dosage and emptied the bottle. The sink kept its slow pace of draining the water. I was ready to throw the other 2 bottles that came in the package into the garbage, but instead, I decided to try one more time and poured one full bottle of the granules down the drain, followed by a large pot of boiling water. Seconds later, the sink made a funny sound and the drainage returned to normal. So does the product work? Maybe. Maybe the recommended dosage is too low, and you do need to use 2 full bottles. And maybe you do need to use boiling water even though the instruction specifically says not to do so. I think Drano needs to reevaluate the recommended dosage. Despite the uncertain effectiveness of the product, I may buy it again the next time my sink decides to go slow. It is the first product I have tried that actually resolved the issue. Also, the dry, granular form makes this product easier to handle and store as it minimizes the risk of dangerous spillage that often happens with the liquid form of clog remover.

I have a front country kitchen and the drain from the sink takes a long, slow, winding descent to the septic tank allowing for grease to buildup. For MANY years annually I have endured a clogged drain about 25 1/2 feet out--snaking from both ends with a 25 foot snake over many days would eventually loosen the harden grease. I tried this product when it said "destroys greasy kitchen clogs' on the package. I faithfully put some down the drain every couple months and it has kept it clear. Even if the drain starts running slow, a can of this product over a couple days will do the trick. I found a single box of it at a local big box store, but it did not have the punch this does for some reason. Also works great on hair clogs in the bathroom sink!

best for all drain cleaning a bit pricey but i can't complain really as it does it's job very well I had a vanity sink clocked with hair (wife's hair) and regular Drano Gel - Heavy duty did nothing....I just poured money down the drain (which clogged it even more :p ) the crystal form is best

Always love this stuff, but I’m sure that they must’ve changed the way they make it because it does not seem to do what it used to do back in the day
