Great product.. not for lazy pet owners and people with children that can access the devices.
Pretty nice product for the price. Although a warning should be accompanying this product in very large print and the remotes should come with a lockout switch. Also would be nice if multiple remotes could program to a collar device. All that said. Nice product. I very much doubt we will ever see a need to use the shock feature beyond a 1 setting. Please people try out this product on your own neck first before attempting to fry your poor pet. One of these collars came preprogrammed from the factory at 100. And if a setting of two caused my neck to jerk pretty hard and gave a sharp needle pain as well I assure you accidentally allowing a 100 May change your pets life permanently. Wise to review these setting each and every time you place on your pet. Also it is so easy to overtighten the collar with the receiver attached. This collar should move freely around the pets neck. Not stay in one place.. it will choke your poor animal if you are not careful with this.. some people are idiots and obviously are far too lazy to pay attention to these settings.. don't be an idiot. Use this like you love your pets.. if you don't , May God be your judge jury and executioner should you kill your pet being lazy. . Great product! Just so many cruel idiots out there to trust with even a simple collar..

This has changed my life and my dogs' lives!
Life changer! I've had the Petrainer for 3 years. (replaced the remote once) I have only had to "shock" my dogs a couple of times. Most often I beep them. It has changed our lives. They don't yap, run away, or get aggressive with other dogs anymore. (and they're miniature schnauzers) I just made sure that they had the collar on when we were going to be in a situation where they would do those things and beeped them if they did it. It's worked wonders! I use it as their leash. I put those collars on and they are sooooo obedient. I can let them run free but the second I say "get with me" they come to my side immediately. They have so much more freedom. For walks in the neighborhood, I put the collars on but don't even turn them on! My dogs just mind. When I take them to the greenbelt or Lowe's I turn them on just in case and to keep their training up. I really don't HAVE to use the collars anymore at all, I do as a safety net.I can't say enough about the Petrainer. People comment on how amazingly trained my dogs are and I tell them how amazing the Petrainer is. (sometimes I just smile and say thank you and let them think I'm a freaking genius)

Good for my purposes
Its a good set for my purposes, but I'm now on my third remote and one of my pair of collars broke so I can't charge it. So not really heavy duty. But I use it for one dog who was trained on an e-collar years ago. He has a thick coat so its hard to get the contact points to his skin, but I only have to use the beeper or at most, the vibration mode. On my short coated dog, I use the flattest of the contact points that came with the collar and only use sound or vibration. That's just as effective as the static charge.

Good replacement for our waterlogged remote
We have had the petrainer system for over a year. Never occurred to me that the remote isn't waterproof like the collar (my reason for deducting a star) so a trip to the lake ended the life of our first remote. I was disappointed thinking I would have to buy a whole new collar set and have two collars with no use. After a quick search, I found that you could just buy the remote, what a life saver! It has linked up just fine with both of my collars and now I know I am good when my lovely GSD uses her selective hearing.

Works well, but I wish it turned on and off
Let me start by saying that I really like these collars. I have used them for recall training to great success, and have actually lent them out to a neighbor who wanted to stop her dog from barking. She has had to use the vibration twice in the past month, and I haven't hear him at all in that time frame (which is highly unusual for this coonhound mix). I should also say that I needed this replacement because I lost the original, not because it broke. My only complaint is that this remote can't be turned on and off, meaning that I don't feel comfortable putting it in my pocket while my dogs' collars are on because they are apt to get corrections that they don't deserve, which defeats the whole point of the device. The collars, on the other hand, get more stars.

Transmitter clip is weak.
After acquiring a grown hairy dog I realized I was going to need some help with her training. The vibrate mode works great through that insulating hair. The only design flaw is the belt clip on the transmitter. Anyone who is out working / playing with their Canine is probably active. The clip on the transmitter would be better if it were hinged with a spring. As it is now, the transmitter is very easy to loose because it does not hold tight to a belt loop or other clothing. I finally tie wrapped a caribiner to transmitter to attach it to a belt loop. The price is nice and collar is waterproof. I even dropped the the transmitter in the swap once (briefly) and it still works. I recommend it and bought one for a friend with a hard-headed Corgi.

Stops working...
I like this product...BUT this is my third time buying one under a year. I don't drop either device, keep them charged, etc. and one of the two just stops connecting and working with the other and it's hard to say which one isn't working when they're both charged, so I have to buy a whole new set. I tried resetting, changing channels...nothing is working. I had my second one replaced for free in May, very nice customer service, but now I'm without one again because it just stopped, so it's becoming a little frustrating. As I said, I like the product, good training tool/behavior, nice price compared to Psmart wanting $60, but ugh....here's to most likely buying a fourth one.

Very Nice Replacement.
This was a very nice replacement but it never worked on our older collars. We have two dogs and it would of been nice to have been able to use the replacement on both the collars. To fix this we will have to buy a completely new set. They did try to help by sending a replacement controller and collar but it was only one not two collars. I would recommend this product but word of advice don't ever loose the controller.

Love this product!
Love love this training collar for my dogs. It makes it so much easier and enjoyable for myself and my dogs to be able to let them run free without the worry of them "bolting." I was so upset when my original remote broke, but was impressed that this brand made replacement ones.

Durable and functionnal
You can switch from sound mode, vibration & shock. The range is reasonable and will work within most dog parks. The vibration died on my unit after 6 months but my dog was already trained and didn't needed anymore.

Great value
Lost prior remote so ordered this replacement and it works perfectly! Was very happy I didn't have to repurchase entire collar again
