Great gardening tool!
Pros: It works great. Its not too heavy. The length is perfect for swinging. The construction of the mattock is heavy duty and will not bend, i highly doubt you could hurt this thing. Like i said it works great and it shipped fast.Cons: Can only think of one con and that is the head is a little loose, however after using it for about 6 hours, so far it has held up great.I would highly recommend this product i think it has great quality and price especially if you look at some of the other reviews for other mattocks/garden tools. Most people say the prongs bend easily on other but this is pretty heavy duty.

Trident Tiller
Bought this to hand till a garden rife with tree and shrub roots. The sharp edge of the "spade" end made short work of the small-to-medium roots and the "trident" easily broke up the remaining soil clumps. A GREAT addition to any gardeners kit.Too bad they D/C's the BIG Mattock. My neighbor had one, and it made short work of the bigger roots.

It's OK
The concept is good because this tool unlike the littler version for weeding in the garden can be used for rougher work. The handle is not solidly fixed so it slips off at times. I am able to push it on and it stays, but if you drop it, the handle slides off. It is meant for work that is less demanding than a mattock

A SPECIAL NICHE TOOL
The same head that is on this tool is also available on a standard length handle (normal length for a mattock and other chopping tools). This tool's shorter handle length makes it possible to do work where the longer handled tool would be inconvenient. I had and used one like this for many years until it disappeared (probably into the green jungle - we live in an area that meteorologically is a rain forest and in recent years we began painting all tool handles a bright yellow - and still we lose some). I was pleased to find this one the first place I looked - AMAZON! (Sears once had a slogan, "We Have Everything" - and soon that slogan should become AMAZON'S.)I have several other "mattock" configuration heads (including this one) on both long and this shorter length handle, and the lengths are just not "interchangeable" for some tasks. I most often use this one on steep areas when attacking Kudzu. Because the "ground" is closer to me (I wear spikey shoes to hang on) than if I were on a flat surface, the length of the handle was perfect. I have also used this tool in my pond to pull up cattail roots. Because I am working blind, and must use one hand to guide the tool head under the roots, it is easier to not have to straighten up completely in order to start the prying process.

I loved this tool, until banging the tines into a particularly stubborm bit of limestone broke one.
This is my second one. The first one I purchased at some home/garden supply maybe 10 years ago. It is basically identical, except it had a very nice rubber/silicon(?) grip covering 1/2 of the handle. Thankfully the glue appeared to be water based because a bit of water and some elbow grease and it came off, and I put it on the new one.So 5 stars for being an awesome little hand tool, one knocked off for not having the green grippy bit anymore.

comfortable, but effective
This tiller is great. It's not too heavy, but it's not too light. It's big enough to do everything I need to do, but small enough to handle in tight spots. I can swing it repeatedly throughout a job without exhausting myself, and still complete the task. Unfortunately, it is hard to find a replacement handle for the head, but the head is great, so it's a trade-off.

Very useful tool
An invaluable tool for removing stumps and similar work. I wish the handle were a little stronger - I broke it on my last job, but it's as good as new with another handle. Cuts through all manner of brush and roots.
