All hail the genius of our time.
Everything that Cooper writes is haunting, and disturbing, and beautiful. This is no exception.

Dark, cold, sometimes brutal, occasionally humorous
This is DC's best work in a long time. Like a lot of readers, I was disappointed by the intentional obscurantism of The Marbled Swarm. One of the things I've always admired about DC's writing style is the clarity, the pared-down essentialism, if you will. So I was surprised to see that these poems harken back to DC's earlier work. Dark, cold, sometimes brutal, occasionally humorous...all the qualities we look for in a good lover.
