Decided to buy another recorder with more inputs and features and after long consideration of a few model’s within my budget (Zoom F8n Pro & MixPre10 II) decided to go with the MixPre 10 II even though I already owned both the Zoom H1n and F6, and I am glad to say that I have not been disappointed with the decision. It has proven to be as easy to use as reviews indicated it would be and the input/output routing capabilities have been easy to deal with which is what worried me the most. Sound quality compared to the F6, I found it to be just slightly cleaner and clearer and adjusting setting for the inputs and outputs faster than it took me with the F6. Having the capability to copy the sd card recordings to a USB thumb drive automatically has been a blessing. Only thing I would like to see is an improvement to the Wingman application to add play back capabilities like on the Zoom F6 Control application. With Wingman you can Start/Stop recording, enable/disable tracks, and enter metadata, but no playback. For that you have to use the physical controls on the MixPre.

I just finished a shoot with this device. I am originally a sound guy so I am very particular about sound. This system is the best investment I made on a sound recording equipment. I loved the ease of use, built quality, compatibility with other accessories (for me it was easy) and above al the sound quality I got. I highly recommend. I own both the mix Pre 3 ii and the mix Pre 10T.At the 10T level I honestly think you have delved into the pro level sound recording for film.
