these are built for long legged dogs which makes sense because hunting dogs mostly are tall. i bought it as a car "sweater" for my boxer mix and ordered a size smaller than her measurements because she was just at the minimum measurement for the larger size . i am glad i did because it fits snuggly and the legs are the perfect length. i think if i had ordered by the size guide it would have been way too big and i know the legs would have been inches too long. it keeps her warm and has a good amount of stretch so she is comfortable lying down.

My mini Aussie weighs 28 pounds. My Cavalier weighs 30 pounds. They wear either a small or medium depending on the Kurgo item. Medium loft jackets. Small base layers. Small life jackets.My dog's backs are approximately 17 inches on my cavalier and 18 inches on my mini aussie. For the base layer, the length appears to refer the zipper length. My dogs were swimming in the medium. The small size for them better. The back legs are longer than the zipper so there is a couple of inches there so a dogs back doesn't have to be under 12 inches to fit into a small.They appear to be well made with thick fabric that stretches. The zipper adjusts so a person can put a harness on under the base layer and still be able to connect a leash to it. They have reflective strips that work really well at night. They fit well under the loft jacket. I haven't tried it under water yet so I can't comment on rain resistance yet.If you are on then fence about ordering it, just do it. Your dog can wear it alone or under the loft jacket for extra warmth. Kurgo is a great brand. If your gear gets ruined, their warranty policy is awesome. They really do stand behind their products!

Works well, keeps my AHT warm in the 30s and 40s. Kind of tight in the front arms gives him rashes.

I bought this for my little Bentley bean who is always cold in my house because the central air is always pumping, I bought this for him and he loves it he is warm now always. The quality is great easily the best dog clothes I have bought, very stretchy and soft, durable zipper, and my dog looks so cute in it.

This coat seems great, but I measured my dog and it is absolutely huge on her. She is a 10-pound Hanavese who is always cold. Her back measures 13 inches, so I was debating between a small and a medium. I got the small, and it is swimming on her. I can hem the legs, but the belly band is only tight when it is wrapped all the way around her body an back up by the zipper. It does not have any way to attach up there. It seems like a good coat, but it has a really weird fit, not sure what dog would fit in the small, but it does not fit my 10 pound, 13 inch long Havanese.Update:I tried to modify this jacket to fit my 10 pound Havanese dog. She’s 9 years old and her back measures 13 inches. I hemmed the legs and added Velcro to pull it up tighter, but it was still so loose and big that she fell and hit her face when her foot got caught inside of the jacket despite my modifications, so I decided it had to be returned. But it’s just so warm that I wanted to keep it for her so I tried one more time. I hemmed the legs even shorter and moved the Velcro up higher, it is better now. Still really lose, and the back is really too long even on a13 inch long dog. But it works now. So I’ll keep it, but I really wish it fit better. I also had to cut the elastic loop on the neck because it was so long her nails got caught in it while walking. It really keeps her warm though, so just hope the new Velcro doesn’t pull off and ruin the jacket over time. It’s warm though, good quality, just too big and baggy. Hopefully it will fit your dog!

We absolutely love this all body sweater! It fit her ok (she has an odd shaped body so that was expected!), was pretty comfortable on our trip from CA to OR to WA to CAN!! Worked sooo well against the cold she was comfortable and warm in it our entire stay! We also really enjoyed how versatile the zipper was and how it fit her harness :)! I definitely would recommend to others!!

Bought this for my goldendoodle size was pretty good it was just too snug for my guy. Shipped it back the next day 3 weeks later waiting for my refund. Good luck if this doesn’t fit. Be ready to wait, I had another jacket shipped back in the same box they finally issued a refund on that one this morning. For whatever reason an item in the same box is still pending! Not good. I’ve been with amazon for years and have never had to call 4 times regarding a refund on anything. If this is the new normal it’s not worth being a Prime member.

My Dutch Malinois just had surgery. The vet prescribed a "Cone of Shame" to keep her from licking the wound. Thankfully, my son suggested I look into a onesy as an alternative. My investment of time searching Amazon for the best option, reading reviews and comparing features brought me here.I (We) are super pleased I did! The Kurgo Base Layer is well made, has a good design, fits well and is a good value. I highly recommend it. So does Myra!

Good thing I read reviews because sizing is misleading. According to manufacturer I should have ordered a medium but other reviewers mentioned it tends to fit big. My JRT is about 17 lbs and has long legs. Overall Small fits fantastic and it seems to keep him toasty warm outdoors under his coat. Well designed and openings lined up for going potty. Very nice material, seems to be well made - Zipper works easily. So far very happy with purchase.

Yo lo compré para cuidar a mi perrito de una cirugía en el cuello y me facilitó bastante que no se estuviera molestando la herida pero hay que tomar en cuenta que la tela es invernal por lo que tuve que mantenerlo en el aire acondicionado para que no sufriera de calor 😂🫣 si vives en lugares fríos y quieres abrigar a tu mascota es una excelente opción ✨

Sinceramente lo compre con miedo ya que las medidas corporales de mi belga son mayores a las que señalan para la talla L. Sin embargo le quedó a la perfección! Nos va a ayudar un montón, ya que por la edad tiene problemas de espondilosis y displasia y si se enfría de la espalda luego empieza con dolores. Creo que lo único que me gustaría es que la banda negra pudiera ajustarse a más tamaños porque parece que es para perros gordos y no atléticos. Así que solo realizaré esos ajustes con la costurera y subir un poco las mangas para que cuando esté echado no se atore, y así pueda andar corriendo en el ajusco

I bought this for my dog when we go camping. It is cozy and keeps her nice and warm, and it makes her very sleepy as soon as she has it on. When it is extra cold I can layer it under her Kurgo Loft Jacket, and they both can be worn over her harness with an opening in the back to attach the leash onto. The only downside is it is a bit tricky to get it on her, maybe we just need a bit more practice.
