Fast router
Old router was dropping/resetting Wi-Fi so I spent a lot of time looking for a new router. I don't need wifi7 or to spend $1000 on a new one. The old one had a really slow web interface and was a pain to do anything. This one has recent hardware, a good price (especially on sale), and is significantly faster and has more options. Most new routers require an app to set up and that was a no go for me. Completely unnecessary to install an app and create some internet accounts just to set some settings/IPs locally. So this one was easy to get into the web interface by Ethernet or wireless to set everything up. I'm shocked at how responsive the interface is. I've had very steady and strong wifi coverage. I have a couple devices plugged in via Ethernet and have had no issues. Easy to pull firmware updates. I've done some MAC filtering and DHCP reservations, and while not quite as intuitive as I've seen in the past it was also fairly simple. It doesn't matter to me but this is slightly smaller than my last router, but design wise it still has the standard external antennas that is not as decorative as some of the new ones, but again that wasn't important to me.

Wonderful, even for a large cavernous house!
Phenomenal. We had to upgrade our router because our duplex is shaped oddly with a large basement, and the modem/router are in the main floor corner, so the old router wouldn't reach all areas of the house and the signal was dismal, even with signal boosters in place (which were even worse). The TV in the other room would buffer trying to stream 720p constantly (in fairness to the old router, it was several years old and outdated as well).Got this one after doing a lot of research. Not only is the wireless speed fantastic, it reaches all parts of this massive house on its own and you can watch 4K streaming anywhere in the house. Wired, it's flawless. I'm moving soon and bought another one because I know I can't live without it now.

BUY IT !!!
Best router I've ever worked with and there have been plenty. One really great feature is the built-in OpenVPN client that allows me to connect to my Windscribe VPN servers, thus protecting everything on my WiFi network, but even that is not an all or non option. You can select which devices on your local network will go through the OpenVPN connection. So, I was able to leave my laptop out of that connection, allowing me to use my Windscribe PC client separately, so my laptop can switch VPN servers easily without having to go mess around with the router configs. Everything about this router is user friendly without a college degree in networking. You'll love it!!! Windscribe+Asus RT AX300 is a great combination and highly recommend both for the best in WiFi peace of mind.

Working well after a year
We have had this router for close to a year now.It features an amazing amount of settability of parameters. In the first several months, we experienced multiple upsetting drop-off of connections (particularly 5GHz WiFi).Rebooting the router was required each time we realized what had happened. But firmware updates came along several times, and it now seems quite stable for several months.

The router has exceptional range, signal strength and is very easy to set up.
The router has exceptional range, signal strength and is very easy to set up.My older gigabit mimo router was starting to drop streaming connections and the 5g network was beginning to throw errors when trying to connect so I decided to upgrade to the ASUS AX3000 and am glad I did.Although the router has extendable AiMesh capability, I don't need it even in a 4,000 square foot home. The signal strength is excellent from end-to-end, top-to-bottom and holds connections even with five streaming and gaming devices connected. Finally, my connection speeds are much faster and I'm now getting full advantage of my internet connection.

Works well after a few adjustments
I like the range of this unit. The signal extends outside of my home much farther than my old TP wifi could. No buffering on the tv with this Asus RT-AX3000 and cell phones have a good strong signal. It also has the WPA3 option for better security. At first, I set this up with the quick start guide. Once everything was up and working, I did have to go back into advanced settings, then to wireless, and set my control channels for each band. I found that when the control settings were originally set to "auto", I had some signal dropoff at times with my phone. Since that happened, I've set the 2.4Ghz band to 1 and the 5Ghz band to 161 and this helped out quite a bit. I have a wifi analyzer app that I downloaded which tells me what wifi channels my neighbors are on. I picked channels that my neighbors weren't using and I'm now having success with this wifi unit. Only time will tell, but so far so good.
