Nothing fancy, but good enough
This was purchased to replace a worn out boom on an existing mic stand. This boom is nothing fancy, but should certainly do the job. Out of the box it easily threaded right on to the mic stand and was ready to go in a couple of minutes. This boom is probably not something anybody would take on a world tour, but it should be good enough for most "light duty" purposes.

Cheap Boom Arm That Works Fine
I am a live music performer and recording artist. Most of my gigs in recent years -- especially since the start of the pandemic -- have been online shows. I set up a mic on a stand, plug into an audio interface, and broadcast out to my fan base, most often in the online world of Second Life but also on Facebook Live and other video-based formats.I'd been using the same stand and boom arm for probably 20 years when one day, having wrapped up a show and feeling pretty good about myself, went to take down my gear and turn my performance stage back into a boring office area. But as I started to lower the mic stand to put it away, the whole boom arm detached and my rather nice large diaphragm condenser mic nearly crashed to the floor (I caught it in a display of amazing cat-like reflexes).I went to re-attach it, and... nope. The inner mechanism of the clamp had rendered itself useless. So, since the stand and base are still fine, I just needed a new boom arm. I considered some more expensive options than the JamStands model, but really, at like twenty bucks, it was worth a shot.My only note about this arm: it screws on. It may not seem like it, but it does. Don't get frustrated if it doesn't seem to work; you just have to align it properly with the stand. Once I got it screwed in properly, I was impressed at how secure it felt. I connected the mic, and it stayed completely firm and sturdy. So yes, this is an inexpensive boom arm, and if I was going out on a big tour or playing out at clubs on a regular basis, I might not be confident that it would meet my needs for the long term. But for my use, it works perfectly fine, and it will probably last longer than I will be performing.

Best of the boom arms of this size and prince on Amazon
There are 3 or 4 small boom arms on Amazon at the moment with these features and a bought a couple of all of them to test. These were the best. Smoothest quickest and most secure adjustment of all the ones I tried. Cheap enough try one. Recommended.

Onstage has nothing at all to ever prove to me. I’ve seen plenty of quality items.
Onstage IMO is often your minimum spend to get gear that while not super top end, you’ll get plenty of Milaage out of and chances are have a long, beautiful, and deserving relationship with them. I for one am happy Onstage and a select few other brands are holding the center with affordable pricing for pros and hobbyists alike. Hope whatever you added it’s highly impactful and moves your musical journey ahead full steam.

Handy replacement
I have several mic stands that have broken or missing boom arms. These are an excellent replacement for the original booms. I really like Ultimate Support products, they stand up to a lot of use!

Sturdiness, easy to setup and very very reliable
I dont know said this was junk, your all wrong, i highly abuse stuff and baby stuff.... I was able to savage and save my adamboom mic stand, thanks to the replacement by jamstands telescoping mic boom arm. I have to say this thing is made like a tank, fully adjustable to your liking. Setup was a breeze! If this sumbitch can hold my heavy #audiotechnicaat2020 it will hold anything! Now maybe ill be able to make some decent guitar riffs from the #dimed100 amp!! Thanks JamStands!! Best investment I ever made period 🤘🤘 trust me buy it! If it can hold my heavy #audiotechnicaat2020 mic it will hold anything. Also held my shure sm57 and shure sm58 and the audio technics at2020 with ease. Stayed in place, didn't move or slide until I moved it and slide it.10000000 stars!!!

I can't recommend this for pro use.
The inner tube in the boom will not remain in place and rotates with even a short (6") gooseneck slightly bent and a typical (Shure) dynamic mic. I have tightened it even to the point where the retaining screw scrapes a line in the tube. Otherwise acceptable quality at this price. I'm going to try to wrap some fine sandpaper or something around where it goes in and see if that will work. I can't recommend this. If you are trying to save money, make sure you only need to use the mic at the default angle without any attachments.EDIT:The sandpaper trick worked and I'm using it now with the 6" gooseneck for some time now. so I changed my rating from a 2 to a 3.

Love it! Hasn't let me down yet!
I bought it to use as an overhead boom mic in my recording studio at home. I like the sturdiness of the build, the solid grasp of the pivot. I'm thinking about buying another one for use with my sound system.
