Fremont DieNCAA Poly-Suede Steering Wheel Cover

We have a 06 Dodge Charger and my fiancé had to have tools to help put it on literally and then we haven’t had it very long and one side is already fraying. But this was the only Husker steering wheel cover we could find that we liked the design of it.

I have a new car, and purchased this so I could immediately protect the steering wheel, and so that it would not feel awkward with a thicker grip on something I had gotten used to. For reference, it's a '16 Jeep Wrangler. This thing was SNUG, to say the least, when putting it on the steering wheel. I wasn't sure it was going to go on to be honest. Once I got it on, it felt great, I like the choices of materials in the locations, as I do not think heat or sweaty palms will ever be an issue with it. The logo is on the top of the steering wheel, and I don't mean as the picture shows. Picture it printed higher on the grip, almost facing directly to the sky. I don't mind the location one bit, but if you're expecting it to be "looking" right back at you, it's probably not. Different seating location/vehicle may have a slight effect on that, but probably not much. The printing of the logo itself is the only unknown I have at this point. My vehicle is garaged, and I haven't had to face the most brutal heat of the year with it yet, but it would not surprise me if it started to deteriorate with the constant assault from the Texas heat. DO NOT read too much into that, the product itself has not given me any indication that it will happen, and I cannot score it based off of what "would not surprise me if". I will try to comment on this sometime after August, but for now, this product has exceeded my expectations, therefore deserved the 5 stars.

Too big for smaller steering wheels

It came in perfect condition. My husband loves it. It took a LOT of tug and pull to get the thing on but once you got it stretched it goes on. Over all great fit and feel.

I really enjoy this product. Wasn’t sure I was going to like the mesh when ordering it, but my mind has changed with use. I love the mesh. One thing to note is that it may be very difficult to get on. I thought it wasn’t going to fit however you have to be very patience and go little by little. Other then getting it on I am very satisfied.

I had been using a leather steering wheel cover which had been working great, but after several years the leather had started to deteriorate so I began looking for a replacement. I settled on the polyester over a leather steering wheel cover this time and I better appreciate it. Where the leather would attract condensation on humid or really cold days, the poly-suede keeps it nice and dry. It also does much better with temperature, as it does not get extremely hot or extremely cold during the appropriate seasonal months. The logo looks good but it isn't so vibrant as to be annoying. The only issue I've yet had with it is that it sometimes slides a little bit since the inner section is also made from the thick poly-suede material.

This arrived quickly and my husband was pleased with the overall appearance and that it stretched to fit - no strings to tighten. It looks nice and the price is great. The only things that are less than great about it is the logo is the latex iron-on kind, meaning after a while it's going to wear off with normal use, and there is a strong rubber smell from this that makes the inside of your car and your hands smell like a tire. I wouldn't consider either one to be a deal-breaker, though. Bottom line: It is a great product for the price, I'd recommend it, and I'm glad I purchased it.

Full Disclosure:This item is a Christmas gift for my husband, and as it is still early December at the time of this writing, he hasn't recieved it yet to put on the steering wheel. Therefore, I cannot comment as to the item's ease or difficulty of application, or it's durability while being used. I can only comment on the way it looks, which is great.The yellow is crisp and bright, and it has a nice texture. I think he is going to be really glad to install the wheel cover in his Jeep. If my impression changes after he puts it on, I will update this review.Update as of January 7, 2013.My hubby installed the cover on Christmas day with no trouble. He has been enjoying it ever since!
