There was nothing wrong with the product, it is good to know it is made of foam and not plastic.

Kumihimo is simple to learn and quick to weave. I would recommend this to anyone with a child who wants to learn simple string crafts or adults who like productive fidget devices. (I use mine during meetings sometimes as I have ADD and just need a side focus.)

This was clearly designed by people who actually do braiding. It is made perfectly for ease of use, light weight, but robust to last for a while.

This product is exactly what I needed to produce flat Kumihimo braids. Already using and enjoying it! Well made.

I gave this a 3 because I was more than a little disappointed that the braiding plate did not come with all the items pictured on the description page. I would give the plate itself a 5, simply because it is a great product. I got the braiding plate and the instructions, but did not get the card of cord which was shown with the plate. I called and was told that they no longer had that package. I really thought Amazon would correct this error (I assumed it fell under the A to Z guarantee and it was purchased through them) because they do still carry the cord for the company. Although I was not happy with the shortage, I kept the plate because I wanted it. I looked before doing this review and found that the picture has been changed. In other words, the product page no longer shows the cord in the "what you get" pictures. I am very happy with the plate(square)even though I expected to get the cord as shown. I am very pleased with the disc starter kit I purchased for making round cord, and it did come with the pieces it shows in the what you get picture. My teenage (19 yr. old) daughter has become enamored of the plate. She loves to do thread and cord work and was really excited to see the plates when they came in. So, yes I would recommend these plates to those of you who want to create something unique for your projects and as Amazon has now removed the picture you will get what you see there.

If you have not used it I would say go one step further and watch it on YouTube, I tell you I was like a child on Saturday morning getting a good fix on cartoons non-stop. I purchased this one and the square one and then a 3rd that was a kit that had the thread holders in it so basically this review is the same for all three as each of the Kumihimo (round and square) perform the braiding technique however the square one takes it just a few steps more when braiding. Again, best thing to do is watch them in action and THAT will make your decision for you. I am hooked and loving it while for me it shuts out the world and puts me in a "zen-like" state while creating.

Essentially it's just a foam rubber disk with a hole in the middle and 32 slots cut into the circumference. Yes you could make one yourself if you really don't mind sitting and doing it but for the price of these and the precision cutting I'd rather spend the time using it to make something else. I make dog leads for friends and family and this simple disk has cut the time they take down by about two thirds. Brilliant bit of kit

This is a very useful gadget. Not just for making bracelets. I have a couple of dogs, one of whom is ball mad, but only for the ball on a rope. We have no end of tennis sized balls that she's chewed the ropes off of and this disk makes it a very quick job to make replacement ropes with. Nice and strong and tightly woven so she can't chew them too quickly. Very happy and for jewelry making there are tons of you tube video ideas to get stuck into. This seller is one of my favorites. There stuff is always quick to arrive, keenly priced and good quality. I highly recommend them.

This Kumihimo disc is easy to use, is great to learn on and can be used to make a variety of different types of braid using different thicknesses of thread and different materials.

As with most things ordered from Amazon the delivery on this article was well within dates given. For somebody who wishes to keep their hands busy and produce articles that can be given as gifts then Kumihimo is the way to go. The 5.5in disc here is great for making flat weaves and by using the instructions on the attached guide gives a good variety in pattern and width, following the information given makes it simplicity itself. Once managed it makes you consider expanding the range of items you can make and the supplier of this disc can provide different types to allow more variety.

We had a demonstration at the WI I go to and thought it would be good for my 7 year old grandson. He loves it easy to use he's making 30 now for all his class mates and grans helping. It's good fun.
