Baby and mommy both LOVE this swing!!
I have to admit that I was on the fence about purchasing this swing. I registered for this and the Snugabunny bouncer and I received the bouncer as a gift at my baby shower. I never received the swing and thought I didn't really need a swing AND a bouncer...especially when the swing is so pricey. I've heard that some babies don't even like swings and that they grow out of them fast. All this convinced me that a swing was not necessary. About a month after our baby girl was born we finally finished her nursery and then I had a dilemma. I had been using the bouncer a lot in the living room where she and I were sleeping and spending most of the day and I couldn't decide if I wanted to have the bouncer downstairs in the living room or upstairs in her nursery. I had been given some amazon gift cards after the baby was born to buy something for the baby and myself. I considered just buying a second bouncer since the baby seemed to like it so much...but then I saw that the swing was still there on my registry. I had enough gift cards to cover the purchase so I made the leap and bought the swing. I figured if she didn't like it then I could return it and get the bouncer instead.Let me just say...this swing was worth every penny and more. Even if it only worked for one day (which isn't the case...it's still going strong) I feel like I would have gotten my money's worth out of this. My baby girl LOVES it. She naps in it all the time but the best part is that I can set her down in it when my arms start to get tired and get at least a few minutes of rest...or 15 minutes to eat...or 30 minutes to get something else done. Sometimes when she's crying and all she wants is to be held or carried and I can't hold her any more (I have health issues) then I can set her in the swing and she calms down. She's two months old now and she still loves the swing. She loves the mirror above her and will sit and look at the baby in the mirror, make faces at her, etc for several minutes. We use the nature sounds on the swing and she seems to like that more than the music. The first time she fell asleep in the swing it was swinging front to back...but ever since that first time she seems to prefer the side to side swinging. It's nice that there is the option to change it up though. She's not yet paying much attention to the birds on the swing...which is funny because she loves the ones on the bouncer...but I think it's because she's so fascinated by the mirror. Awake and asleep...she spends about 2-3 hours in the swing a day total spread out throughout the day and I am one VERY happy mommy. This swing has saved my arms and I definitely feel that it is worth the money. We should get several more months out of it but even if she grew out of it tomorrow I would feel like we got our money's worth out of it. I am SO happy with this swing and recommend it highly...especially if you have a baby who likes to be swayed or rocked. Our girl loves it!UPDATE 3/28/15: Baby is 4 months old now and we still love this swing. We only use it once or twice a day...but it is a great item to have. Our baby girl does NOT take naps...but sometimes if we are VERY lucky she will take a short 30 minute nap in the swing. Most of the time she just quietly plays in there and makes faces at the baby in the mirror or jabbers at the mirror. Now that she's using her hands more she really like playing with the bunny that is attached to the seatbelt. Our girl is still less than 13 lbs so I think we still have a lot of time left to use this. Still thrilled with the purchase!UPDATE 9/4/15: Baby girl is now 9.5 months old and we are still using the swing for nap times. She weighed in at 16lbs 5oz at her 9 month check up...she's such a little thing...so I expect we still have some time yet to use this. the swing works as good as ever and still is just like new. Our little girl still loves the mirror and when she wake up from her naps usually spends 10-15 minutes giggling, laughing, and smiling at herself in the mirror. I cannot recommend this swing enough and am so glad we bought it.UPDATE 4/20/16: Baby girl is 17 months old now and still take naps in this swing. It is absolutely one of the best purchases we made. The swing still works like a dream.

Assembly is sketchy and leaves little room for human error
Okay let me start by saying that I spent hours researching every product I was buying for my daughter. She's my first so I wanted to make sure to do it right. Reading the reviews for this I decided to buy it and I can say I had alot of the similar complaints. After I put it together it does not sit evenly, I did not have my daughter yet but I will be very cautious or try a weight in there before putting her in it. Also, when putting on the legs & attaching the swing and some other parts, the hard part is the bolt you use to keep it together. It has the 2 separate legs/tubes that you slide into eachother, pretty easy however what it does not tell you it that the plastic piece around the tubes that you put the bolt through, you have to line them all up yourself, including turning the plastic piece to line up which you cannot see inside to know if it's rights. To add to that hassel, you have to hold them together (it's in an upright position, so they don't come apart) you also have to make sure the plastic piece that turns is staying in place. That's not even the hardest part, the hard part is when you put the bolt in & have to use the allen wrench to put the bolt through & secure it. The hole on the other end is very small, you have to screw it to make your own hole (I guess to make sure it stays in good), but you need to apply a good amount of pressure on the Allen wrench to even get the home started, while it is upright and your holding 2 poles & a plastic piece in place. It is a fairly strong amount of pressure also while having to apply pressure from the side, not down making ot harder. I'm 8 months pregnant and my hands were killing me by the 3rd one I had to do. If you slip a little bit, you mess it up and can't recreate the hole so the swing is already going to be "iffy". I had to call in my husband for the final part of installing the actual basket of the swing. You have to hold the swing in place, the bar connecting from the mobile so gravity is against you, while again lining up all the holes and the plastic piece, while holding the actual swing up and in place because any of the above mentioned move, the swing will not be secure. Considering this has to be done right or the swing will fall off with the baby in it, I think they leave too much up to the person doing it and having to make sure every thing stays in place while having to put alot of pressure to make sure its going in right. On top of all of this for the swing part, the Allen wrench gets blocked by the swing so you can only do half turns, it was a pain and obviously there's no room for error as to not strip the bolt. I think they should make a better assembly design, some parts have the silver button you push down when you slide the othe piece on and it clips into the hole, if they used those in all part of the assembly I would feel more secure in the product. It looks nice together but I am wary of how it will do with a baby in it so I will be doing test runs with weighted items plenty before I'll put my daughter in it. Plan to have at least 1 other person with you to help with assembly, someone strong and be aware that there is little room for error as stripping the bolts (there are no extra) will mean you have to ship the whole item back or go to the actual company and request replacement parts, that is IF you are able to get the stripped bolt out. Hopefully oy will be safe and I will add to this review after some testing.

I've read in some comments the motor noises are terrible. After using it for a few days everything ...
I usually don't take much time to read the comments but with this product I did and almost didn't want to buy it at first. I decided to go on and give it a try anyway.. I'll give you a few reasons here on whether you should buy it or not.Noise: I've read in some comments the motor noises are terrible. After using it for a few days everything is fine, the noise is pretty normal for a swing like this. Some complain the noises start after a few weeks. On that I can say something: it's possible the product has a bad motor and it starts making noises after let's say 1 month BUT it's also possible some people forget to tighten up the screws every once in a while as recommended in the user's manual which causes the motor to be de-calibrated in some way. (I will confirm this in a few months)Swing speed: I've read people complaining about the swing speed, you can set it from 1 to 6. In my opinion, you shouldn't listen to those people. The swing speeds are really fine. Some also complained about the swing going slower.... Did you guys think about changing the batteries or just start using the A/C Adapter maybe?Music: good quality, can adjust sound, I did not see any bad comments on this.Space taken by the product: yes, it's a big swing but it looks cool and can blend in your design easily. I personally don't think that's a problem but I saw some people complaining about it. If you think space is a big problem for you, go for a smaller swing.Long-term storage (for people who are thinking of having other babies in the future): I can't really comment on this since I bought this a few days ago but I can say this after reading the user's guide something: REMOVE BATTERIES FROM THE DAMN MOTOR IF YOU STORE IT. You know why I say this? Because I KNOW some people forget that batteries can literally melt down in a motor over the months/years if NOT USED and totally ravage the interior and then they blame the poor quality of the product after!Baby's feelings about this: god I wished I would have bought this sooner, she loves it so much (she's 4 months old now), she's always happy in it and less fussy too in general. Just don't leave her/him there 24 hours a day, please.PS: You really have to read the user's guide and follow every instructions and warnings by the letter, you should also do this for everything you buy in life. Reading isn't that hard... is it?********** 2 MONTHS LATER*********** (She's now 6 months old): still loving the product, probably the best thing I bought for my daughter ever.

New model is loud
I had this exact swing a few years ago however ended up selling it. I was super happy to see that it was still available and purchased this again however it is not the same. I was shocked at how loud it is, so much I called Fisher Price thinking I must have a defective motor. They advised that the newer models have a new technology (can't remember exactly what she called it but it had something to do with the swinging motion) that makes it a bit louder while getting up to correct speed but then should get quieter once it reaches that speed. She was very helpful and even sent out anothe motor assembly it sounds just the same. Very sad as I loved the old model of this swing but the new model is loud (definitely have to turn the tv up to hear over the motor) .....still love the plug in option of the swing though AND the ease of customer service from Fisher Price!!!!

Functions well, but poor quality and scuffed finish
Disappointed in the quality of this item. We purchased it because it had consistently great reviews, however ours seems to have scuffs on the metal legs and bubbles on the smooth plastic on the top of the motor, which is so significant I have no idea how it would have passed quality control. My husband actually had to go buy a new nut from the hardware store because we were unable to tighten one of the legs. When he removed it (which was quite an ordeal in itself), it was full of shredded plastic which made it impossible to tighten and therefore made the whole base unstable. Other than those issues, it seems to function well as a swing and now we wait to see how the baby likes it!

Nice looking
Easy to assemble. Looks nice. It's a bit loud, it doesn't seem to bother my baby. The only downside is one side of the leg is not bend at the right angle. One foot is not touching the ground, but it is still steady, so I did not bother to return it. Instead, I just put something to make up for the space. Somehow my boy doesn't want to stay in it for longer than 5 min. But it might work for future kids.

Baby loves it!
Our little one really enjoys the swing set. it has adjustable volume with a few different sounds and is pretty sturdy. We as parents love that it comes with an A/C adapter, considerinh how many baby toys are battery powered. The unit we received made a really loud grinding noise when turning on the swing, but did work A quick call to the manufacturer and they sent us a new motor unit.
