Blue Demon ER70S2 X 1/16" X 36" X 10LB Box premium carbon steel TIG welding rod

I’ve never found a difference in ER70S2 filler. This is as good as anything else I’ve used, for a great price, with fast shipping. It arrived clean (no rust). Not much else to say.I’d recommend getting a filler tube for sealed storage. 10lbs lasts me about a year and if I don’t keep the moisture away, it’ll rust in no time.

This is great TIG rod at a great price. The product itself is of good quality and is pretty standard stuff. The packaging however could have been better. The Rod is shipped in its own cardboard box padded with paper that was loose fitting in a larger box. When I received the package it appeared to have been dropped pretty hard causing the inner and outer box to tear. Some of the rod was hanging out of the box and was all bent to hell. It's still usable after I straitened it,but doesn't feed very well through my hand. The protection during packaging is the only reason I knocked off a star. One last note; I wouldn't order this during the wet months as there is very little moisture protection that could cause significant corrosion. With all that said I would definitely buy this rod again and plan to in the future.

They're filler rods... Work fine but the way they were packaged in the box for shipping, the plastic tube broke. Not a fault of Blue Demon necessarily. Buy yourself a storage container for these if you don't have one already.

I love the blue demon brand. I needed these in a hurry, my normal source was out of them. I usually pay just about $10 with free shipping for a 1 pound tube, these were more than double.

Lots of debates between or about the S2 vs. the S6 fill rod. Maybe one is better than the other if you use it day in and day out or if your making critical welds on pressurized pipe etc, but for my home projects and tig welding, I have some of both and can't tell the difference between one or the other without looking at the number on the rod. Now my son welds pipe for a living and will use nothing but the S6 fill rod.

If you're a hobbyist and don't have a big project, the 1# tubes are great to have on hand, and in different sizes and types so you're always ready to weld what ever. Order the 5# for larger projects and save. I keep the 1# tubes filled and on the cart so it's always handy.
