Winter Magic: Christmas Patterns to Color

Creative Book and a Wise Purchase
Gorgeous book with beautiful graphics. Definitely stands out in my stacks of other coloring books. In fact, it looks so lovely, I've kept it out on my coffee table for the season. People love picking it up and flipping through. Nearly every design is attractive enough to stand alone as a print if you wanted to frame or affix to a project. The only thing keeping this from being five stars is that 1. the pages are double sided. This prevents the use of other coloring mediums like watercolors or alcohol markers. 2. The pages are not perforated. This is a personal preference and may not bother you. 3. Be sure to put down a piece of paper between pages when coloring. I've found that even lightly shading a design causes the ink (not ink from coloring, but from the printing company) on the other side to transfer to the next page (like a stamp). You can see one of the examples of this issue in the first pic. Anyway it's a high quality product and I don't want these three drawbacks for me to discourage you from an enjoyable book. I would like it to prevent you from ruining pages due to ink transfer and if purchasing as a gift, include some nice pencils as they won't bleed through. (2nd picture of my fave design, 3rd a work in progress using prismacolors)

Color a winter wonderland
I was in the mood to color some winter scenes and this did not disappoint. There's a fine variety of drawing detail, ranging from my needing a magnifying glass and super-sharp pencils to no need for glasses at all, though this book does tend to the not needing help at all. Drawings are printed on both sides of page, so be aware of that if you prefer to use markers and pens (or enjoy framing your masterpieces). The artwork is lovely and very festive. It has a good selection of nature and traditional images to color. Many of the pages are black background, which made me want to break out my fluorescent pencils just for the fun of it. I'll even enjoy coloring this in the middle of summer when it's over 100 outside, so I can think about the coolness that is winter. The pages are an awesome size, though I personally wouldn't want to pop it in my purse when I travel. It also doesn't have a stiff back that would make it easy for lap coloring. This is more of a table/desk coloring book. It's a fun coloring book that I heartily recommend.

Sometimes you just want to be a kid again (or lack the art skills to draw your own images)
Great book for kids and adults alike. Bought this for the nostalgic purpose of coloring, and because my girlfriend bought one similar so figured we could do it together. The patterns are pretty cool, relevant to the name (Winter!), and some are very intricate. Some of them just do not appeal to me, but this is a personal opinion. My girlfriend has the Eastern Magic version, and I like that one much more for it's intricacy/patterns/style/geometry.Nice product for nostalgia, relaxing (unless you get frustrated when you go outside of the lines! lol), and sharing some quality time with people while doing something somewhat creative. I say somewhat creative because the color choices are yours, but you are coloring in printed images. This works for me because I'm an engineer, and my art skills are lacking to say the least.

Excellent Winter Coloring book
I was looking for something fun to color with a winter/holiday theme but didn't want "traditional" Christmas pictures. No Christmas tress with presents under them, mantels with stockings or snowy winter scenes. This book fit the bill perfectly. I have been wanting to use my gel pens and the pictures with the black backgrounds are perfect for that. The colors really pop out. Also, some of the pictures are more "filling in the lines" than traditional coloring which I actually find refreshing. I do a lot of coloring with both markers and pencils but something about the simplicity of following a line was very relaxing. I am using both Fiskars and Sakura Gel pens and haven't had any bleed through. I've also completed a few areas with Staedtler Fine Liners and haven't had any bleed through with those either.

This book has intricate holiday designs and patterns on black or white backgrounds. Glitter markers such as from Moogs make the designs festive and fun. The effect of the black background is really nice. The designs contain a lot of zentangle -like patterns which are more creative to color in. I enjoyed using this book after surgery to relax. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is because I wish the designs were only printed on one side of the paper. I would love to see books like this, printed on only one side, with other themes.

frame-worthy drawings
The drawings are definitely some of the most beautiful of all these adult coloring books for framing, very intricate and detailed. The only downside (for me) is that more than half of them are black background with very fine white line drawings, so I'm kind of at a loss as to how to color some of the pictures. The back cover illustrates what I'm talking about, and it is lovely, it is just different to color snowflakes red and blue... The pages are a nice thick quality paper. All in all, this is a very nice book, very different from the usual.

Liked the Black Pages Best
Very nice variety of holiday themed patterns. I found those with the black background to be the most fun to color - didn't think I'd like the black but they ended up being my favorite.Very good quality paper which is nice since pictures are printed on both sides. I do wish the pages were perforated, I prefer to easily remove them from the book when coloring.

Great winter book...fun to color
I love this book...the pages are double sided but generally pictures don't cross over to both pages. There are black areas that pop with bright markers and the paper is not flimsy at all. I have used Prismacolor and Polychromos pencils, Stabilo markers, washable markers, Inktense pencils and the paper held up to them all. I colored the entire book and really enjoyed it. You can practice your colors with these pages. I wasn't disappointed in the quality of the pictures and the paper.

Nice design
My 13 yr old daughter loves to color in these books. Keeps her occupied for hours plus she adds her own flair to the designs. Great book.

Jolis dessins
Emballage parfait. Dessins très variés sur le thème de Noël. Papier épais avec des dessins recto verso, à voir si les feutres à alcool sont utilisables ou non. Les coloriages sont sur fond noir ou blanc, certains sont détaillés.

A lot of the patterns are just fractals, and not necessarily winter-themed, as I had hoped. Also, the patterns are very small, so lots of fiddly details.Maybe I just need to buy a kid's colouring book, lol.
