We have a mini cat rescue and as you can imagine, we have LOTS of used litter. It was a challenge to drag it out to the dumpster. Someone suggested we try some of those lidded litter keepers but they were pricey and kind of flimsy for our needs. I decided to just look at lidded buckets, and found these.We've been using them for a few months now, and they have been a HUGE help. We just put regular tuff style garbage bags in them, scoop the icky stuff in them and then close the lids. When full, we tie off the bags and haul away. Makes the job so much easier, and the buckets are strong and seal up great. Seems weird to be raving about a lidded bucket, but they are solid, seal well, solid handles, so yeah, worth raving about I guess.

We use this for the dog food. Its perfect. Seals well to keep the food odor locked in. Easy to open and close one handed with the pinch latch gizmo too. It'll hold at least 15 plus pounds of dry dog food. Great investment.

I use the bucket to store bags of compostable material and carry it to the recycling center weekly. The raccoons got into my previous container but they cannot open or chew through this product. The lid is easy to open and close, the ratchet system works well.

I previously had a I had terrible fruit flies in my compost bucket with a Gamma Seal Lid, but fruit flies always seemed to get into it filling my apartment with them. I've had this bucket for a week and no fruit flies yet, the lock actually seems air and water tight.

This bucket with Rachel lid is pricey. The lid ratchets on and is secure, but it’s not air tight. If you plan on using this for food storage or water storage it does not seal. There is a gasket but as the lid rat he’s on it begins to lose its shape and does not make a complete seal allowing air in and fluids to leak out.For the price is you want and need something completely sealed this will not be for you.

Seems very tough latch was easy to use haven't used it yet going to use it for long-term food emergency supplies. So I believe it will be better than what I already have. I liked it so much. I ordered some 1 and 1/2 gallons for emergency car supplies.
