Excellent suspension seat post that significantly improves rider comfort.
Bought this seat post to replace the rigid stock post on my wife's new Aventon Level.2 e-bike. The Aventon seat and seat post did not absorb any bumps and made long rides on mixed surfaces very uncomfortable. The SR Suntour SP12 NCX suspension seat post in combination with a new memory foam seat has proven to be the perfect solution. It was quick and easy to install. The seat angle and post spring load adjustments took just a couple of rides to find the best set points. I was concerned initially that the seat post's suggested rider weight range (132 ~ 220 lbs.) might be too high to be able to reduce the spring load low enough for my wife's weight (under 130 lbs.) but that proved not to be an issue. After a couple of weeks and 75+ miles riding, my wife is extremely pleased. I like the seat post's design, build quality, and ease of adjustment. The only design improvement that would make it better would be to add a graduated scale on the post to help reposition the seat height correctly when it is removed for load adjustments.

Works really well.
It added a lot of comfort to my ride. The roads and sidewalks here are pretty bad so it didn't solve all my problems alone but made it much better than it was

Love the nice ride easy on your back , But must use the correct spring for your weight . do not use after market springs

A+ with one recommendation
I have major low back issues. I hit bumps with my hard tail and it took about 90% of the shock. I don’t know in about this products longevity but so far so good.I am a heavy rider and I should have been able to select the spring type at the point of sale instead of having to make an additional purchase to get the “heavy” spring. I’m not convinced I actually need it but I got it and now the original spring is just going in a box or the trash. It’s simple waste of metal/resources.

Excellent Suspension Seatpost at a Decent Price.
Very nice suspension post. Its as good as the RedShift one I bought and less expensive. It is made of good quality materials and it worked well for me stock without adjusting the preload. The cover is actually better as it stays put and keeps dirt and water out of the mechanicals. The RedShift one had only a rubber fitting to snap-fit over a gap that frequently comes off (has a lanyard).

Well worth the investment
Application: Female 72 years, 5’5” ~133 lbs reasonably good physical condition and athletic; with total hip replacement in last 12 months.Purchase this seat/saddle post to be used in with new e-bike we are over 70, and with age it is important to search out best in class products to help mitigate ride discomfort during and after the ride. In addition to the active post I purchased a saddle upgrade from the OEM supplied with the e-bike which was Terry Cite C Gel Italia which is a Touring design you will find my review on Amazon. The SP12 NCX is very robust in materials of construction so do not see any potential for premature product failure. Great value when compared to cost of rear suspension bike.Important points to check and consider:Rider weight will determine the spring compression rating the post is supplied with the standard spring140-180 lbs, there are two additional springs sold separately Blue 140 lbs or less and Red 180 lbs + ~ $25 for optional spring see SR Suntour North American website for more information and purchase.Identity your vertical ID of the bike tube receiver you can measure or better see you bike owners manual. ID make up sleeves can also be purchased. You will need 5mm Allen Wrench to install the seat to the post. Important that you visually confirm you have “full contact of the saddle/seat bracket with the two halves of the post clam” and once in position tighten to 15-18 Nm.(11-13 foot pounds) Vitally important for your safety that the installation is secure. You will need 6mm Allen to adjust the spring preload or for spring exchange . The default load is ~ 50% of full scale. To maximize the performance and benefit of the product you need to choose the correct spring and potentially adjust the spring preload. Their is 50 mm (2”) of post travel ideally you want to adjust the spring to utilize the maximum travel. For your safety… If you do not have the correct tools or not confident in your ability to install correctly have a professional perform the installation. There is no scaling on the posts that said once you determine the ideal height position mark the post by wrapping electrical tape around the post tube so you can reinstall at the same height.Only negative I see in adding the post is weight 765 g or 1.69 pounds however if you are installing on an e-assist bike it is not necessary important factor.Combination of upgraded saddle and suspension post delivers a superior riding experience. For best experience do your research there is more to understand and consider the above is a summary based on our experience. No I do not have a suspension seat post because I ride an e-assist recumbent tadpole trike with full suspension, or I would.Enjoy your ride and do so safely.

Excellent seat post suspension system, at lower cost than competitors
I've been using this seat post suspension for about 4 months and it is working well. I set it up according to the instructions, and I'm getting good suspension on the terrible asphalt roads in my area.My experience in setting up the system was simple - just adjust the tension spring plate with the included tool until the seat depresses about 1/3 of the way through its full travel when I'm fully seated on the bike. This type of suspension is going to smooth out minor cracks on the street, which is what I bought it for. It would probably be ok for gravel riding too - but this is obviously not suspension for serious off-road riding..
