Great learning tool!
While some of the processes of the book may seem dated, Parrillo certainly gets results for those that chose to follow his advice. I say use the info and follow up on his web site to see how he has tweaked the philosophies in the book to fit current research and training protocols.

This book is great! I mean you can learn so much from this book even with diet. Seller is great super fast, and book was like new!

More calories to get lean, counterintuitive!
Yet that is just want John Parrillo wants you to do in your quest to get bigger and leaner. I've owned many copies of this book over the years, and it's one that I return to consistently. You will see that many nutrition and coaches today advocating increasing calories and activity to fire up your metabolism, in short, you will be eating a lot and exercising a lot. That's nothing new, John was advocating it back in the late 80's and early 90's. Morning fasted state cardio? Yup, John had us pounding the pavement back when Haney was still Mr. O! Advanced stretching techniques to force your muscles to accomodate size increases? Yes siree, John Parrillo was already there.Although this book could have been way more detailed and contained less photos, it's a good primer for his systems available on his website. This was relevant then, and it's a great book to add to your collection now. There are other better books about getting into contest condition, but this one is a classic.

If you have read articles from Mr parillo,You might not need this.But if you want everything condensed,this is a good read.He believes in working out everyday.Eating every 3 hours and fascia stretching etc,Every thing is on web but you can read at once.
