Color:Black Eliminate the worry of where you left your glasses Fashionable and lightweight, you can use these retainers with sunglasses, eyeglasses and readers. Made with genuine leather - Sometimes nylon retainers can irritate your neck. These leather cords will instead feel gentle and comfortable on your skin. They also make for a nice gift for anyone who uses glasses. Get a pair for you and one for a friend. They will pay for themselves many times over by saving you from having to buy new glasses every time a pair gets lost.

Pretty good - but had to apply some remedial action.
I'm using these on a pair of Ray Ban aviators and generally speaking, I like them. They aren't perfect though.Mine came with the flexibility of piano wire... maybe not quite that bad but they were really stiff and I couldn't get the bends out of the braided leather. To remedy this, I soaked them in in very hot water for 20 minutes or so. That loosened them up nicely. I stretched them (just a bit and carefully - not pulling the ends where it attaches to the glasses). I then placed them in the pocket of a cotton tee shirt and dried them on a low-medium heat in the dryer. There were still pretty stiff so I worked some Obenauf's leather oil into them and that softened them up quite a bit. (As a write this, I just checked them again and the leather completely sucked up almost all the oil so at least another application of leather oil will be applied. Kind of a shame the braided leather was so badly dried out, but the Obenauf's leather oil really works wonders. A second application, actually 15 minute immersion in the leather oil, did the trick. Soft and supple as they should have been from the package.)

Lasted 3 months.
Not too happy with this one. I purchased only 3 months ago, the cord got wet (due that some of my children relatives thought it would be funny to push me into the pool). I laid them out to dry, got my glasses the next morning and used a paper towel to clean them, and the cord snapped in half - like it had dry rotted. I tried to tie the ends together into a knot, and that broke. Didn't know leather was that frail. Not sure if it's even leather. Not good.

Pulled a little too early and it tore like it was paper against the back of my head
View the images carefully: this cord is actually quite thin and the leather is not at all supple out of the packaging. Cord broke after 4 days of use while taking it off over my head. Pulled a little too early and it tore like it was paper against the back of my head. Very disappointing--it is thin leather, and more of a fashion piece than something like nylon, but I would have expected it to hold up to what I would consider normal wear & tear. FAR too expensive to have such poor durability.

Too stiff
The workmanship seems good but it is not "supple" enough to hang unobtrusively. I tried softening it with leather conditioner but to no avail. I did not send it back because it does have some intrinsic use.

little pieces of leather glued together .... junk
I thought this was real leather.... I mean for 14 bucks right? Turns out they are, but particle board is real wood too. Once these things get a little sweat on them they fall apart.. At that point what you have is headed for the round file. Total junk.

Weak. Appear to be made with the leather equivalent of sawdust.
Mine simply broke after 3 months They had never gotten wet--not even sweated on, yet they seemed to have the integrity of wet tissue paper. I attempted to tie the broken ends together, and they, too, fell apart. If this is "leather," it is made of remarkably thin shavings, such that the very short, remaining fibers lack tensile strength. I need to find something more durable.

What a hit!
Bought this for my friend. He wanted a way to keep track of his glasses, but didnt want anything too feminie. These were a GRAET hit for his birthday! He couldnt get over the great length, the fact they were leather and very masculine and now he can keep track of his glasses without having to ask the whole family to help him find where he last left them!!

Masculine appeal
My husband wanted a longer eyeglass holder, and this does the trick. Very attractive, too.
