Looks and Works Like Brand New
Nick and Leo included a note with this great Bose WAVE lV to get in touch with them so they could make things right before leaving a negative review. No worries, guys! I can only say good things about the secure packing and the fantastic condition of this item. I bought a Laicomein Bluetooth receiver and can easily stream my music into my Bose for its signature full sound. I will review that receiver and its drawbacks when I finish this review. The remote is easy to use so setting the preset FM stations is a breeze and the radio sounds great as well with the antenna left over from my dead Cambridge Audio system. The hand sticker on top to show the one touch on and off feature detracts from the aesthetics but it’s not a big deal. I don’t know if it can be or should be removed.I love the more compact size because I can fit my basket of CD’s beside it instead of on top like I had to on the larger previous system. The newer systems with CD capability have built in WiFi but they are bulky and expensive. The Bose WAVE lV sounds excellent for its size in our master bedroom armoire and I would highly recommend this vendor for a great deal on this older system.

Don't just like it, love it!
I like everything about the Bose Wave Music System IV. It's nice to have a radio that just simply turns on and off and a CD player that just simply plays when a CD is inserted, no need to get out the iPhone, connect to Bluetooth, etc. just to listen to a little music, no boot up and annoying menus. It's uncomplicated and Bose has thought of everything. It's easy to setup with the remote and the directions are easy to follow. It has good bass response. The default bass setting is fine for me. You can easily set the bass lower if the default seems like too much. The sound quality is excellent, a more refined sound than the average sound bar, subwoofer set up, most of which sound muffled and booming to me.The lack of Bluetooth is no problem as far as I'm concerned me. The unit will play an MP3 cd. CDs are cheap. Burning a cd with a selection of music is no problem. I prefer not to use the iPhone for music anyway. I rather burn a CD than fool with iTunes any time. The CD is backup for the music and save wear on the iPhone battery. The Bose Wave Music System IV isn't touchy like so much other technology, Bluetooth, touchy touch screens, etc., touchy volume controls that blow up your speakers or your ears. I turned off the touchy touch power on/off. You might like the feature. I didn't. The first time I brushed over the top to remove a speck of dust and the unit turned off I was a little put out, but I appreciate so much how Bose allows me to turn off that feature easily, I got over it and went back to loving it.I was hesitant about buying this because I had an old second hand one that was the pits. I had started to think that Bose was just overpriced and overrated. I'm happy to say I was wrong, at least about the Bose Wave Music System IV.

Bose
It was too expensive on Amazon. I got it from eBay. I love the sound of the Bose system.

Long time Bose Wave radio user
I have been a very long time Bose Wave radio user and love it. Our older one that we have had for 26 years finally broke down. I wasn't real excited about the newer ones since I thought everything had to use the small remote and didn't see how that would work as an alarm clock which is what we wanted. I was very happy to find out (after watching some review videos) that the top was touch sensitive to turn on/off the radio and and that also worked for turning on/off the alarm. Our old one didn't have the CD so not sure how much we will use that but with the demo CD that came with it, it was fascinating to hear the sounds from it rather than always relying on the local radio stations. I've always been impressed with the Bass levels from these radios and as expected the new one doesn't let us down. The sound is great out of it. It does seem like the sound levels on this one has to be a little higher than our previous one but I don't know if that's just a difference in the volume range numbers. No matter what it still sounds great. I'm hoping we will get as many years out of this one as our previous one.

Great Sound But ….
Bose is known for two things: 1) Great sound, and 2) High costOurs sounds great. There’s no way around it. It sounds terrific! The remote control is intuitive and easy to use (although there are no controls whatsoever on the Wave itself).I’m pleased with the player aside from the price (we received it as a gift). However, the advertising for this product is misleading. It indicates that it has Bluetooth. It does not.You have to purchase an aftermarket Bluetooth device which plugs into the back via RCA or auxiliary jacks. Now I can play songs from my iPhone via Bluetooth. And units are available for reasonable prices (just over $20). But when you pay this much for a Bose that appears to have Bluetooth only to find it doesn’t, it’s disappointing and frustrating. But as I’ve said, the sound is rich and deep and clear and beautiful.

Great sound, Small package
I bought this as a gift for my mother, but had to test drive it before I gave it to her. I have and use the much smaller Bose bluetooth speaker with my phone and it really sounds good for it's size. The Music System IV uses the same folded wave tube design as in the smaller bluetooth speaker (or vice-versa.) At any rate, the amount of bass produced by the system is impressive given it's size. On balance, it provides good full-range audio. The radio portion provides the RDDS info if the radio station provides it; seek works well in finding stations. The CD player functionality is all there along with CD-Text. There is provision for a telescoping external antenna and an auxiliary input. All in all, a worthwhile purchase.

Completely satisfied
Bose arrived well packaged double boxed and bubble wrapped. Out of the box the Bose was clean and the few parts, including a warranty were clearly visible. Plugged it in, grabbed the remote and wow really excellent sound. Totally pleased with this purchase. 👍
